Can't they take responsibility for their illegal actions? If we all started running red lights, should we hold our government responsible for the accidents, or should we blame ourselves for breaking the law in the first place? These immigration supporters are saying that the US government should be better babysitters!! That illegal immigrants shouldn't actually be expected to abide by the rules, because our government doesn't enforce them enough! But now that enforcement has begun due to this epidemic, protests are popping up all over. Pick one side of the fence people! Literally!

Yeah, I understand what you are saying. I don't know what these other fools are talking about.... Oh wait, yeah I do. They are some of the people you are speaking of. The Govt. is responsible for this issue though, they let it go on FAR to long.

you have it backwards. first a bill was written criminalizing aiding illegals. that prompted the demonstrations by people who did not want the government to criminalize charity when it is for someone who is not a u.s. citizen.

now suddenly the government has come back considering amnesty as a solution. just like they had to do in the 80s under reagan. this is the government's fault. they have underfunded the border patrol and the ins and pretended that this problem does not exist. you have come into this fray unarmed if you believe these people just started showing up recently. that is not true, many of them have been here as long as 5 years.

the "epidemic" was due to a lack of enforcement. the epidemic was not an epidemic until sensenbrenner poked the hornet's nest.

would it unnerve you if the government let us all murder each other for 5 years, then suddenly incarcerated everyone that was still alive because, well we just weren't paying attention and this would be easiest? this is our congress at work!

Sounds fair, the illegal immigrant should be responsible for their actions, but the fact that the US government needs to make changes in the immigration system is obvious!

I don't think anyone has said that they support the illegal aspect just to relax the immigration policies which also is happening you have been concentrating on the deportation of the immigrants. However if you notice they are people with convictions, there are equally as many getting a chance in court to plead thier case.

LOL@fence. What's really at work here is years and years of systematic abuse of our public services. As costs spiral out of control, it's becoming apparent that our economy quite literally can't support the sheer number of people trying to move in.
It's given birth to all kinds of lawlessness, and Congress has known about some of these problems for YEARS and done nothing...now, the states are acting...

Funny thing is this govt. is full of paradox's.....I mean first we have to secure our border, because of 9/11.....So we go and attack a country, Iraq, that had NOTHING to do with 9/11....Why don't we go for Bin Laden?????

Now, they are lax on the borders, why? What happened to national security?! And why aren't you furious that our govt., STILL allows terrorists here with student and tourist visa's?!?!

Sorry but, you have to blame a sovereign country, that not only has the power to do to control its borders, but REFUSES to.....

The blame is where it should be, on this schizophrenic govt, that can't make up its own mind and enforce its laws!

There are no sides...Americans will always flee into Canada (whether we want you or not) and Mexico to escape their responsibilities and consequences of their actions and Mexicans will always flee into the US attempting to find a better way of life!! It is simply the way it is... no-one can stop this so just go with it and develop some compassion and stop fearing everything and one.

They are responsible for their own actions they can't blame others. If it is wrong it is wrong. They are wrong and our government is wrong. But some don't want to face it--- it is easier to blame others for their lack of values.
Maybe next we will hear the government blaming them for their decisions. Wouldn't that be a switch?

Laws are not absolute; they are man made.

When everyone goes the speed limit, and no one ever jaywalks, maybe then i'll start respecting the law some more.

You could use a few facts but hey, most folks like you don't like facts.

Where did you hear that enforcement is up?
