Canada doesn't use green cards. They use what is termed a "landed immigrant status. Th's is similar to the green cs rd where you allowed to live and work in the country. It can lead to citizenship if you so choose..

Don't have a link but try the Gov. of Canada, dep't. of Immigration. They are on line.

No, we don't have that kind of lottery. The Landed Immigrant Status can be obtained by applying to it at any Canadian consulate outside of Canada, or by applying to a change of status from within of Canada provided you're not in the country on a tourist (visitor) visa.

Generally it is a bit easier to get into Canada than into the US.
They/we (i'm duel) don't have a green card, what we have is a landed immigrant, then permanent residency, then citizenship.
You can apply for entry into Canada by fillign out a visa application in an outside country and there are different classes of immigrants and choosing the right class can greatly increase your chances of success.

No we don not have lotteries of that kind here. You have to apply as a skilled worker or if you have immediate family/spouse thats a Canadian citizen it would help. It usually takes less than a year if you go the family route.
