who do you think is the best qualifyed and why?
I knew WWII vets at the va nursing home and was very, very depressed, these guy's deserved a much better end of life I have friends and family of Vietamn vets and I have changed diaper's on a few of these young Veterans from this global war on terrorism that will slow done much, but will continue at least eighteen--18 years.., just REACH they're children.

As a disabled vet that fell threw their under funded, 19th century system (did your grand-father or great-grandfather go to the same school room as your child(s) is now? How can many generations of Veterans recieve help at the same time at the same facility?

even though the secertary of va must become a full time job, I'm already with a check and would only need a real secertary from the pool....what do you think? Promise I would get the most done and I would cost nothing, only a secretary.

I know, I know, Americans think that the US Constitution is the best in the world and it's perhaps the most sacred document after the Bible, but I keep thinking that in today's fast paced world, it would better to have no-confidence motions to remove the head of state. Four years is a long time to put up with an unpopular president who has not broken any law. A parliamentary democracy would also allow more political parties to contest elections and to build coalitions.

If the US is a democracy, then why do we have both democrats and republicans as the main parties? And why was the US referred to as a republic in the Pledge of Allegiance?

I know the obvious answer - voting.
But say most of the population disagrees with the war - why wouldn't we have a say? It is our country.
Say that most of the population disagree with how their taxes are spent - shouldn't they have a say? It is our country.

The government is supposed to represent us. Why wouldn't the public's opinions count?

PLEASE do not make this a conservative/liberal debate. That's not what I'm looking for.

I constantly follow news whether it be print, television, or radio, and I always wonder when I will hear of any real progress being made in our legislature over isuues that matter to me. It is rare that you ever hear about congress solving any real problem that is vital to our nation. It seems like our government is bogged down trying to serve the special interest groups. I am just an ordinary American trying to do my own thing and earn a living. I dont care about who fixes problems in society be them democrats or republicans, I just want progress. I don't want the issue of gay marriage or global warming to halt progress on congress fixing the economy or dealing with the situation in Iraq. I just think as a nation we have to get our priorities straight. I do not have a problem addressing gay rights or global warming just dont campaign on them. Make plans to solve the problems of today. Quit catering to every liberal interest and get something done.

I don't have children, I don't use public transportation and I don't go the library. Why should I have to help pay for these things? It's communist! I know you'll say, "it's an investment in America" but shouldn't I get to decide how to invest MY money? And I dont' want to invest in these communist ideas. Of course the answer is obvious. But my problem is that I have applied for the post of Assistant Treasurer of a the students astronomical society. And now I have to face an interview and also make a speech based on 'why i think im the best for this position'.

As im an engineering student i dont have much expericence in accountings either.
