Here's an off-the-wall theory.

Elminate the corporate tax on any company whose highest-paid employee has a total compensation that is no greater than 50 times that of the lowest-paid employee.

If the boss wants to make a million a year, everyone has to make at least 20k. If he gets 2 million, then everyone else gets at least 40K.

Would companies do this voluntarily in order to avoid corporate taxes?

i don't understand how such a biased network can get away with thinking they are serious. Liberals have there own bias news commentary shows, all of which are openly comical and even make fun of themselves. i think inoredr to stay legitament they should change there name to "conservative opinions." or something more along the lines of what they really are, which excludes the word news.

I posed a question a few weeks ago titled, "Does this make sense to anyone." It is listed under one of my questions. In it, a person who goes by Frank, M, not only COMPLETELY missed my point, but he also left me a nice personal insult. I was under the impression that this message board was to come up with solutions to problems, or for a better understanding of a subject. Now I have only received about 6 hours of sleep over the last three days, so I will try not to say something I may regret later. To the frank M, who so kindly informed me that I joined the medical field for the "big fat paycheck",let me just say this: I work 12 hour night shifts, which usually ends up being a 13-14 hour day. I then go home to my 5 year old daughter and my 10 month old son. I feed them, bath them, dress them and take them to school/baby sitters house. It is now 1130. I get up at 530 pm, scarf something down, and go back to work for 12 hours. Yes it is hard, but I woudln't do anything else.

I find it unbelievable that no one has come to the defense of the soldiers who did the work of the CIA and now sit in jail. Yet Bush has signed into law in short he and rumsfield can not be held accountable for any wrong doing on the war on terror. Why is it that soldiers are accountable but civilains are not.

CA could do it. We send so much tax $$ to DC now. Imagine if we kept all the $$$ we now send to the Feds.
We would be far richer than we are now. And we ARE already # 6 or 7 in the entire world economy.

One problem with the minimum wage is that it is the same minimum wage for everybody, from teenagers flipping burgers to entry-level skilled laborers. Obviously, a $6.50 wage is not enough for a high-school graduate who is starting out on his own, but $9.00 is too much for a 16-year-old peddling french fries.

So why don't we create a multi-tiered minimum wage?

TEEN - Anyone 18 or younger, single with no dependents - $5.75/hr

UNSKILLED - Anyone 19+ OR Married OR with dependents, with less than 2 years work history at this level - %7.00/hr

SKILLED - Anyone at any age with 2 years of work history at the UNSKILLED level - $9.00/hr

So a kid might get a job flipping burgers for 2 years at the TEEN level, then move up to UNSKILLED upon High School graduation. After two years, he moves up to SKILLED.

A 17-year-old who is married or has a child, though, can go immediately into the UNSKILLED category.

Would this be good for business and workers? Opinions?

Why dosen't the US. Government take action in the fight against Global Warming, besides the fact that it may or will cause economical drawbacks? We need to do something quick about this esculating problem and quit pointing the finger at everybody and saying " They're not doin it so why should we". This is a real issue and I haven't see hardly anything if any at all in the media about this issue here recently. Hello the problem didnt just go away its still here and people need to quit letting the government point their heads in different directions on minuscule problems and face the real issue that if we dont do something soon it's definately going to come back and kick us in the rear!!!
