I find it unbelievable that no one has come to the defense of the soldiers who did the work of the CIA and now sit in jail. Yet Bush has signed into law in short he and rumsfield can not be held accountable for any wrong doing on the war on terror. Why is it that soldiers are accountable but civilains are not.

We have developed into the most corrupt nation in the world, I hope people wake up and realize that one party rule is not an option. I wonder how this law that they just past will stand up to international law. He is definitely a criminal for lying to take us to war. He should have to pay for the 655,000 dead Iraqi's 2800 of our service people and the many, many wounded.

Nothing is wrong. As soldiers, they have an obligation to disobey any unlawful order. Soldiers are given clear explanations of what is and is not acceptable under both the US Code of Conduct and the Geneva Convention on the treatment of enemy prisoners of war. Further, they should know damn well that the CIA has no legal presence in their chain of command and thus has no direct authority over them. The whole "Nuremburg Defense" is an embarrassment to them as soldiers and us as a nation.

As for holding Bush and Rumsfeld accountable for their misconduct, impeach the former and demand an investigation of the latter. Direct some of your disgust to where it should go: those who refuse to hold the powers that be accountable.

All governments do this. Those soldiers represent the "fall guy!"

The man/men who sent them will walk away smiling - totally unscathed, but those poor patriotic men will be made to pay in more than one way for "doing their jobs!"

Actually, as far as the higher-ups are concerned, the soldiers are responsible for following the orders passed down to them, regardless of what those orders were.

Ironic, isn't it!

Let's face it, our leader is now a cowardice dictator.
Too much of a pus$y to take the consequences of his

who's a civilian? the president is not considered a civilian, nor is rumsfield. is that the most atrocious hypocritical action you can find? how about that we declared war based on weapons of mass destruction, yet none were found. shouldn't we then pull out?
