Even though the US helps many Third Word countries in times of famine and other disasters, she really doesn't want these people, especialy those in Africa, to gain much in the way of education or a higher sandard of living. The US never talks about educating these people, and Aids deaths just means less people to provide for. So despite humanitarian efforts, the US (and other more progressive countries) have good reason NOT to be concerned.

After all, just imagine the price of oil if even a third of the Third World countries in Africa were living on the same level as, let's say, middle class Americans.

I have a friend I wrote to many years ago. Who is scheduled to be executed. I wrote as soon as I heard. I urge you to contact the governer. I ask you to go to tdcj ( texas dept of criminal justice) look over his case, google his name, case, and see if you too dont see a injustice. I live in seattle and the Green river Killer just got life and this young man whos been in jail since 17-18 one body gets death. I think life no parole or what ever would be more like it. I am not totally against the death penalty, or for it. I am just not for it as it stands now, and thats for sure. I am against the executing of kids( and I mean young adults too 0-22) young peoples brains are way too complex, and menatally insane. Plus why make deals for some and not others. I mean why killl him but not Gary Ridgeway, or countless other killers who should of got the same deal. What message is that. I am curious what you think. Please look up the case, ACT. If you feel the need. Look up the case and think!!!

For decades, Republicans have been saying that if we cut taxes and give Congress less money to spend, it will force them to become fiscally responsible.

So why don't they want to cut troops to Iraq and force them to become militarily responsible?

Israel's Chronic Water Problem

10 Aug 2002

The causes of the crisis are both natural and man-made. Israel has suffered from four consecutive years of drought. The increase in demand for water for domestic uses, caused by population growth and the rising standard of living, together with the need to supply water pursuant to international undertakings have led to over-utilization of its renewable water sources.

The agricultural sector has suffered most because of the crisis. Due to the shortage, water allocations to the sector had to be reduced drastically causing a reduction in the agricultural productivity.

the situation has developed into a crisis so severe that it is feared that by the next summer it may be difficult to adequately supply municipal and household water requirements. The current cumulative deficit in Israel's renewable water resources amounts to approximately 2 billion cubic meters, an amount equal to the annual consumption of the State.
