video seemed a little over dramatised. Words like "occult" seem loaded.

If the owl is a symbol for wisdom and if the human in effigy being sacrificed represents the self, is the ideas of symbolicly seeking wisdom and performing acts of self-sacrifice for the community upsetting to you?

The idea of "performing" rituals is not upsetting to me. A ritual is a set of actions, performed mainly for their symbolic value.

ON the other hand, "Occult" or otherwise I am concern with any public servant who joins a group whos rituals ties those involved to the interest of a small self-imposed elite. What happens when their is a conflict of interest.

... need I say more?

Okay so the rich and powerful males all go to summer camp together and act like a bunch of primitive jackasses. So what. It is not as if they "need" to meet in the woods to conspire if they wish to so do. There are a lot of much safer and better secured places where they could weave conspiracies.
In my opinion they are celebrating their power and status. Human beings have this very deep seated need to belong to groups, rituals are part of the glue that bind a group together. People also feel rewarded by belonging to exclusive clubs. It is all very psychologically primitive.
Besides it probably does each one of them some good any way to be reminded that they are not the only important person in the world by being around other powerful people. I say let the silly things have their fun and do their little "Iron John" thing. No wonder they don't let women in, we'd be laughing our a$$e$ off at them.
