Anyone can run for president. It's just a matter of having enough money to campaign. Unfortunately both parties have made it impossible for the average person to run. There are way to many special interest groups that buy there candidates ability to get voted into office. Somehow we need to get more everyday citizens into office, instead of life-long politicians. Most candidates today have gone to school there entire lived just to become a politition. It's not the way our system was suppose to work. Average Americans were suppose to take time away from there jobs to serve in their government, and when the term was over they should return to their respective careers. We are so far past that I'm not sure if the PEOPLE will every truly run this country again.

Anyone can run for president in theory. The problem is big business and politics go hand in hand so if you do not have those connections you are screwed. Also, the cost of an election now makes the theory of democracy out of the question. Politics are only for those who can afford them today. This is far from what democracy is supposed to be. If you look at what democracy is in its purest sense andthen consider what Marxism is (not communism), you will find that US politics are far closer to a Marxist theory than democratic. Do not count on a "normal" person getting into the white house because it is a place reserved for the wealthy, well connected to business, idiots who have no clue about the common man or woman in America.

Georgie Girl.....you do NOT need a law degree to go into politics. Bush, the current one, has a degree in Business from Yale where he held just barely a C- average. He is proof that an idiot can get into the white house as long as you have a few hundered million dollars backing you and your daddy has the political connections. oh and don't forget...you can lie with a straight face and act like a child and be non-chalant most of the time showing little care in the world about what is going on. BUt that is my opinion......

But you can run for President, all you need to be: born in the United States, go into politics and you have to be a certain age.
Then your party can select you, you go to a convention, do your TV debates and then you might be in.
Of course, but that time, politic has perverted you and to that comes the power and we know power corrupts. No matter who gets elected, it all starts out with a bang and goes down in a puddle.

A real person can run for President. The problem is getting your name and message out to the people so that they can vote for you. That's when you need lots and lots of money....

We really do need someone "out of the box" to run in 2008. Preferably with a brain, integrity, real attainable goals that has a backbone and owes NO ONE. We need alot of those kind of people to stand up and stand out to change the course of where we're headed...

You must have an education with a law and political background before you can run. You must know the workings of international law. You must have a certain knowledge of marine law. The list goes on and on. This is why. The people who run are regular citizens of the USA. They each have natural citizenship and mothers and fathers.
