Governors usually travel in SUVs, occasionally with State Police escorts, who also serve as their protection. Most out-of-state trips are for fundraisers or benefits, so the organizers usually pay for private travel. When they fly commercial, it is usually First Class.

They normally travel on state-owned aircraft and are usually accompanied by state troopers most everywhere they go. Then they are driven to their final destinations by a state trooper or other person assigned to the protection detail. They can fly commercial, but most don't do it often unless it is a long distance, etc. Example: an east coast governor can't justify the expense of taking a taxpayer-supported aircraft to California for a political campaign--then the party pays for it or sometimes individuals do. This is a hot topic because of ethical concerns.
Not really a motorcade, although their vehicle may be accompanied by squad cars, especially getting in and out of certain locations (lots of traffic, etc.)

I think that it depends on the state, but I think most have a detail from that state's state police assigned to him/her. I believe most states provide planes and helicopters for their governors.
