What do you think of yet another raise that congress recently approved for themselves? And yet, they turn their ears away from any approvals on the federal minimum wage! There's "no justice" I tell you!!!

ONE example:

homeland security was not seet up to stop another 9/11
thats bullshit. the bush regime claimed that it was to prevent more terrorist attacks, but in fact it had been planned for since before 9/11. and not to protect americans from terrorists.
families of 9/11 wanted to know what had happened to their loved ones, and instead of a proactive commision of investigation, they got the homeland security bill. the bill sought to give the Eli Lilly company relief from lawsuits of parents with autistic children who said that their childrens' autism had come from Lilly's use of mercury-based vacine preservation. by the way, the Eli Lilly company contributed over 1.5 million dollars to the bush campaign part in the '02 cycle. Mitch Daniels, then Bush's budget director, had worked for Lilly for more than a decade before joining the team AND Lilly Chairman and CEO Sidney Taurel was appointed to the presidents Homeland Security Advisory Council.

do you still believe your government?

otherwise subject them to cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment.

But President Bush's signing statement said the president, as commander in chief, can "waive the torture ban" if he decides that harsh interrogation techniques will assist in preventing terrorist attacks.

Has the USA sunk to actively and publicly supporting torture?

Ok so there's alott of big cities around the country, that are letting their citizens vote on weather or not to impeach Bush. Now obviously it's not official, it's just a symbolic thing.

What do you think about it? Do you think it'll get enough attention to get congress moving. I know there's allot of people in the senate and congress that want to impeach him but for some reason aren't doing much about it.

Personally i think it's about damn time, he has trampled all over our constitution for long enough

why are we still at war i think that we have needed our men here more then we needed them there. Why wasnt they able to come home when we needed them the most. i think they should have been back a long time ago when we were in need off our man i just dont understand whats going on now. if it is the oil why dont they just use the oil on our own land then there would be less lifes lost and that would gave our people more jobs. if it is money then i think that we are speading more money haveing our man over there then we would if they were home.
i just want to know what everybody else thinks about that so i can get a understanding about it.

I'm browsing the Library of Congress "Thomas" site, looking at bills/resolution and dont understand the relationship between resolutions. For example H.Res.896 provides for the resolution of H.Res.895... what does this mean? Does the house vote on both resolutions?

Here's the deal: (This applies to some conservatives, specifically Neo-Cons.
Conservatives say they want less government, then why do they want to push an ammendment to make oppose gay marriage? What about laws making illegal to burn the flag? Aren't those just more laws restricting freedom? What about posting the 10 commandments in judicial buildings, when 7 out of the 10 are Holy Laws that would be unconstitutional under our system of government.

Why is it that alot of Katrina evacuees are unprepared with the eventual withdrawl of financial support 1 year after Hurricane Katrina? Its funny that now america is faced with the 'whoa is me' attitude once the money dries up. Especially once it was discoved alot of the FEMA debit card funds issued were used to buy jewelry, vacations and visits to 900 phone sex calls. And speaking of the FEMA debit cards...how could this government allow thousands of incarcerated inmates to claim funds as katrina survivors while they were incarcerated during the time of the storm??!! I hope the government along with the public learns a big lesson in the aftermath of this tragedy. How embarrassing it is to be an American now a days.

The Supreme Court has just ruled that Bush's actions at Guantanamo are illegal not just in the USA, but that they also are violations of International Law and the Geneva Conventions.
What is your opinion of this ruling and why?

I will consider a balanced view point in any answer given. But will say in advance that I agree with the Court and am pleased that even the conservatives voted against him.
