As president, you're right, he doesn't get paid a whole lot, it is public service. But he comes from an extremely wealthy, oil tycoon family- look that up.

Yes, President Bush has money, but so does every President, Vice President, and nearly all of Congress.
The President of the United States makes $400,000 a year, which is far less than they will make after they're out of office writing books, making speeches, working for lobbying firms, and other things of that order.
It has been estimated that the White House would fetch $108 million dollars if sold, but it is considered to be a smallish, quaint place for the leader of a country compared to many other countries, which have much larger and more extravagant palaces for their leader (president, prime minister, etc).
All you morons who are saying that Bush is fabulously rich and "out of touch" because of it, remember that both John Kerry and John Edwards have many more times as much money as Bush - Kerry because of his wife is a Heinz, and Edwards because he made a killing suing doctors for medical malpractice, which, by the way, drives up the cost of heath insurance. Actually, Edwards is the richest of the three...
Hope that answers your question...

His grandfather was an oil-multibillionaire, his father was President of the United States, the Bush family owns multiple oil companies, and he, at one point, owned the Texas Rangers, a Major League Baseball franchise.
So, yeah, he's loaded. So loaded, in fact, that he doesn't need any more money and therefore could not, in my humble opinion, be doing what he is doing simply for money alone.

He doesn't have the most money in the world. Eating at the white house is like eating at a very nice restaurant every meal. It gets expensive. Most presidents make their money after their presidency from writing books or speaking at places

hes on a extremely good wage, better than you or me. He has to decide wether to go to war or not, wether to help people or not. somewhere along the line someone will hate him because hes not doing things their way. He may be earning loads but is it worth it?The white house is like rented accomodation as soon as hes finished there he has to give it up. It never belonged to him and never will.

I think he is, so what? The dems are, at least the ones they allow in power. Besides, I don't know about you, but I wish I didn't have to worry about money everyday. What's wrong with being rich?
