"CARACAS, Venezuela - Humbled by his first electoral defeat ever, President Hugo Chavez said Monday he may have been too ambitious in asking voters to let him stand indefinitely for re-election and endorse a huge leap to a socialist state.

"I understand and accept that the proposal I made was quite profound and intense," he said after voters narrowly rejected the sweeping constitutional reforms by 51 percent to 49 percent.

Opposition activists were ecstatic as the results were announced shortly after midnight — with 88 percent of the vote counted, the trend was declared irreversible by elections council chief Tibisay Lucena."

Okay, I know that if Ron Paul wins he will probably be able to defeat Hillary. All it would take is one debate

QUESTION: How will you handle the war in Iraq

Hillary: Well, in the workings of middle eastern politics it is up to the unified association of all american people to begin to think about considering withdrawrl while at the same time starting to take action in Iran to prevent a conflict there by sending in troops....

Ron Paul: End the war.

So what strategies will the neocons take to keep paul from winning the primaries election.

Alright, maybe I'm just confused, but since I'm already a registered voter, do I have to register separately for the state's presidential primary? Or am I good to go?

If a certain candidate wins in my party, which he probably will, I'm tempted to cross party lines and vote for the other party's nominee in 2008.

Seems like the GOP is making a huge mistake, counting on "Hating Hillary" to win them an election. The swing vote in America, which is the vote that actually elects Presidents these days (the fence-sitters) seem to hate Bush a lot more than they hate Hillary (these are the voters who are on the dissatisfied end of the polls on Bush's performance but who are not necessarily Democrats). The GOP candidates are having a good laugh at hating Hillary but they don't have much substance otherwise. What do you think?

At least they had a real vote on it, I figured he would just say he won either way, seems like a good sign to me, and maybe proof that however bad Chavez is, he may not be as bad as I thought.

I noted on the internet that Obama refused to show the customary respect to the US flag e.g , place his hand over his heart and cite the Pledge of Allegiance. What is his religion and how can he expect Americans to vote for him if he will not or cannot be loyal the US flag.?

If Bill Clinton was never president, would Hillary ever have been a senator from New York? Aren't they from Arkansas?
She made remarks that she was glad Bill was supporting her and other things, don't you think if she was president, he be in there coaching her or she would run major policy by him? Of course, so in fact people that vote for her are voting to re elect Bill too. Since Bill gave her the job to take his health care program to Congress in 93' I believe, will she delegate him to take their plan back to Congress for her in turn and loose it again? The insurance companies are some of the wealthest people in this country. I do not hear any of them looking for other lines of work, it makes one think it won't happen. Her health care proposal has loopholes and I am tired of broken promises and old politics as usual. Don't you agree?

I can't think of a slogan representing Giuliani for the presidential campaign.. Any ideas? Please try to be positive, even if you don't support him. I've had enough sarcasm, thanks.

Can anyone give me a basic understanding about the issues brought forth so far for the upcoming election? I've been kind of busy lately and haven't been able to keep up. I'm mostly interested in the Democratic candidates, but a little light on the Republican stand would be helpful.

Thanks.
