Much of his "rising in the polls" is in Iowa, which has lots of christian fundamentalists. Huckabee can do a reasonable job of passing himself off as a fundie, especially compared to Romney (fundies tend to be scared of Mormans) and Giuliani (secular humanist womanizer from the big city -- not a good fit for Iowa Republicans).
