With grassroots Republican chicanery in the polling place a reality, Democrats can only count on winning by a large margin. Anything close will be decided in favor of the Republicans.
I recognize Obama as a candidate with great merit ( although I personally am not pleased to be rallied by Oprah Winfrey) But are we all about proving we are not racists or is it about evicting the Republicans from office?
The same is true for Hillary. Do we need a woman in the White House or do we need the Republicans out?
For that reason, we should look at the electability of John Edwards in a general election. The electorate are disposed to vote for a Democrat this time, but why should we risk it in order to score purely symbolic victories: the losing candidate was a woman or was a black? All three candidates propose to follow a moderate course. Why shouldn't we choose the one who is most palatable to Republicans or independents?

Seriously is this how "popularity" ultimately dictates world issues? What on earth does Oprah's endorsement have to do with competency as a president?

Ron Paul advocates smaller federal government. Great!

And Ron Paul's policies will reduce the federal tax burden on American families. Great!

Yet Ron Paul's policies are usually to give the State more control. Such as Education.

Now obviously if the state is left to provide the resources for Education then local taxes will go up. Which may not be a big deal for heavily populated areas or states because the amount they are taxed may simply make up for the fewer taxes they are paying federally.

YET, in smaller population states/areas either the tax burden will be much greater or the quality of education will be at a different level.

Music, Technology, Libraries, Vocational Programs, will all be vastly cut in order to keep taxes reasonable for the less popluated states/areas.

So back to my question, based on this, doesn't Ron Paul's policies actually translate to more taxes?

Hillary has Barbra Streisand and so many other far left celebrities that have endorsed her, so why are the Hillary supporters so venomous towards Oprah for doing the same thing except for a different candidate? Can't they handle the competition?
