All the candidates are too busy trying to get votes from immigrants who have illegals in their family. That's why neither Republicans nor Democrats will take a stand on the issue. Republicans want the cheap labor illegals provide.
Unions don't want illegals undermining their members" wages. The unions need to put pressure on the Dems. Obama certainly won't stop it; he needs their friends' votes.

I wish there were some; they'd get my vote in a heartbeat. Don't assume that a Democrat won't support putting a stop to illegals.
I'm a Democrat who will never vote for a Republican president, yet I'm all for putting up a fence, and making English the official language, and for enforcing it in the workplace. I'm sick to death of employees who can't/won't speak English!
And, though I wouldn't want another Republican government, I agreed enough with Schwarzenegger to vote for him based on his illegal immigrant stance and his pro English learning/speaking for immigrants.

I certainly don't trust Republicans to stop illegal immigration or to encourage English language. They've had 8 years to do it, and they haven't because they know that these immigrants provide cheap labor for pro-Republican business owners.
Democrats, just like unions, are more concerned about the average, hard-working person who is losing out to cheap labor.
So, yes, I do think that a pragmatic Democrat like Hillary Clinton, who is not a bleeding heart type of leftist liberal, would support halting illegal immigration.
Dosage--what have you been dosing on? Stel makes a good point about Obama and his far left "gimme, gimme" support base. And he is accurate in his assessment of Hillary, who, despite how Republicans would like to depict her, is not a leftist Democrat--and that's why she'll get my vote.

Democrats, unfortunately do not take a tough enough stance on illegal immigration for me. That's why I can't vote for one. I don't believe in a path to citizenship, either. This only rewards people who have broken our laws.
The Republicans are tougher on illegals. But right now neither party wants to rock the boat because they want their votes.

Illegal immigrans will not happened if the Americans ladies willing to stay at home and happily doing their 24hrs job, looking after domestic problems or stop bitching about lower salaries than the males can get.
And if American guys with limited education are willing to do the rough and dirty jobs and get paid according to that low level job.
The country need all those jobs done, and only the illegal immigrans who are willing to do that.
I think if the Government stop the illegal immigrants, its gonna be chaotic. The Americans have to do all their jobs with their level wage(the illegal immigrans's job) which they dont like doing.
Under today's US economy situation, if American think that by doing those low level jobs they will get paid the amount they should get, they have rock in their head.
I am not pro illegal immigrans but its an unavoidable situation.
American stop the illegal immigrans, the country where those people come from stop their oil for the American.
Who will suffer most ?
Think of it.
America needs what their country got, those people need job ; Its life ; one cant go w/o the other.

My bet is that Hillary would go for stopping illegal immigration. Just don't expect to see it in her platform.
Obama, now there's a real leftist--at least until he gets elected. His support is mainly black and disenfranchised minorities who think he'll pander to them--especially the blacks, though how they could be given anymore preferential treatment than they are getting, beats me.

Sounds good but I doubt if any of the Dem. candidates would actually come out in public to support your proposals.

I'm black and for Obama, but I don't think he's going to do any more for blacks than anyone else would. You aren't one of those people that think he's going to grant us reparations, are you???.......Geez.......
