Seriously is this how "popularity" ultimately dictates world issues? What on earth does Oprah's endorsement have to do with competency as a president?

Oprah is just as qualified as any other ordinary house plant.

Yes, she does, and so does Obama. Unfortunately, many Americans are pathetic sheep-like creatures, and Oprah and her agenda is counting on that.

Oprah's endorsement should have nothing to do with deciding a person's competency as a president, and it is horrifying that Americans have sunk so low as to think it has.

It's said that people get what they deserve--I truly hope we deserve better than to be led like dumb animals into voting for whom a talk show entertainer thinks we should.

Here we go again. I find that most people who are knocking Oprah's endorsement are either afraid or jealous. She has the right to endorse any candidate she wants. She has known Obama and his wife for a long time. They attend the same church in Chicago together.
Oprah's show isn't a gossip show. She has a highly informative show that is sometimes riveting and educational.
She has taught at prestigious universities.
It takes a woman of her magnitude and integrity to get behind a candidate. Any candidate.
And other influential people are going to be endorsed by famous people. It's just part of the process.
And as for Iowans, ( I live in Iowa), I can tell you that they are independent enough to make up their own minds as to who they will vote for. They don't follow anyone.

lol...yes..Oprah is a Movement!
I'm not sure my thought of movement is the same as intended by one of your answers, but they are right about the movement part!

To answer your question, yea, I think she thinks she can help his campaign...and he certainly thinks she can help his campaign.
There are alot of women that will vote for whoever she tells them to vote for.
Look at the books she sells just by saying its a good book.

I personally think it will all just hurt her credibility once people associate her with Obama.
It will not be the pivotal moment in him being elected...but it will be the pivotal moment in her show dropping in ratings.
What a kick in the teeth that will be!
Congrats to Ellen! (as long as she doesnt support a candidate)

p.s.: I love wizzards answers. They are all virtually the same, but when you get them started on Oprah they lose their mind.
It could be Oprahs friend Gail..!..?
It's just all funny to me.
anyway..I have to close out by saying this: Oprah's show is just a gossip show. Only one step about Jerry Springer.
Informative and informational= food for enguiry minds
