The Republican controlled Congress and Senate didn't WANT to do anything about illegal immigration, that's why they didn't. They hold up one hand in an effort to stop undocumented people from coming into the US at the borders, but then wave them over with the other hand in an effort to drive down the wages of those at the bottom. Why don't we allow doctors, lawyers and CEO's from other countries to practice their professions here in America if they can pass a test proving they can do so up to America's standards. Allowing doctors in from foreign countries would save the American people $80 BILLION per year or about $800 per family.

Because President Bush weak on immigration. we knew that going in but figured we could persuade him to do better. He was after all the better choice than the Democrats. Unfortunately he didnt do it.

And the GOP did do something. They mandated a fence be built. However the President and the Democrats have refused to use the money allocated to do as the previous congress organized.

Because they didn't think it was that much of a problem for them then. They are finding out fast just how much of a problem this has always been. Especially when they and Democrats continue to ignore all of the issues of the American people.

If you'll remember, they did pass a law to build a fence across the southern border of our country. The problem is, the bill provided no funding for building the fence itself.
