when people have time to vote........

The law requires that employers allow people at least two hours to vote on election day. On the weekend, too many people are partying and getting drunk.

The law used to be, at least in California, that liquor stores were not allowed to open on election day. That's certainly changed.

Personally, I don't want everybody to vote. I want only those who have taken the time to educate themselves on the candidates and the issues to vote. I don't buy the "It's your civic duty to vote" line. Most people are too lazy, or too stupid, to take it as seriously as they should.

What a cop out! The polls are open 7Am to 9pm. What is so hard about getting off your cellphone for 5 minutes and going to vote???
Why is it that on election day I see more poeple at the local convenience store buying coffee or soda than I do at the voting place across the street??
