Bush's ineptitude and arrogance is not something that is going to fly in 2009.

LOL! You conservatives crack me up with rewriting history as well as being delusional that Republicans are going to take back congress.

John McCain, as much as I've grown to dislike almost everything he stands for now, does have a pretty good record of bipartisanship. So, out of all of the candidates, he would probably have the best relationship with a Democratic Congress. But, lets face it: John McCain's chances of winning the nomination are very, very slim

MItt Romney is the ONLY candidate qualified to be POTUS, and he will be able to work with the Democratic Congress. He has had lots of experience working with Demos and getting things done.
Don't forget, he was governor of the most liberal state---Massachusetts, and had to fight to overcome much adversity there and did make some serious accomplishment such as getting the state out of a massive budget deficit and moving it into surplus without raising taxes.
He has a tremendous record of accomplishment throughout his life, and will become one of the best presidents this nation has ever seen! He won't have any worries about being a Mormon and dealing with Congress. Democratic Senate leader Harry Reid is also a Mormon.
GO MITT!!!

i think you need to do some research on the rate of 're-election'!
a lot of the people in congress and the senate have been in there for a long time.
the problem isn't democrat or republican!
we need to get these people out of office.
get the special interests out of there!
bipartisanship is dangerous. now you've gone from a two party system to a one party system.
not good.
a paul presidency would ensure that any bill proposed would be constitutional. that's why he is 'dr no'. because if it didn't comply with the constitution he wouldn't vote on it.
veto bills until its written in a way that doesn't serve the special interests and complies to the US constitution.
right now everyone blames the president for this war.
congress is the one that votes for it and continues to vote foe more funding. the president is not supposed to have the power he does. Paul wants to strip the power that they've siezed!

If none of the current candidates are willing to compromise on ANYTHING and coalesce around a single issue they can work from--how are they expected to work with a Congress that wants CHANGE--when the current nujob in the WH is *refusing* to work with them on anything; except to veto every piece of legislation that was designed to help the PEOPLE, and not Corporate America?

There are some who will claim to be willing to do so, but that's just vote getting. They'll toe the Republican party line after being elected.

The Democratic Congress has failed to get anything of major importance done because it has been deadlocked with GWB. Why doesn't someone blame him instead--we blame him for everything else? People thought all they had to do was to elect a Democratic Congress, but they don't have enough clout to override the president and his republican cronies.
Obama in '08 and watch it all come together.

First off, your wrong on Bush not working with the Dem Congress, he just finally through in the towel and decided to do to them what they were doing to him. And secondly, the best candidates to work with a Dem Congress on the Republican side would probably be Romney or Giuliani, they are the two most liberal conservatives right now.

I know that Representative Ron Paul R-TX, is bipartisan and has reached across the aisle many times to get Legislation done. He may be the only one who can do that.

there are no Republicans or Democrats that can work together anymore, The partisan bickering has become way to destructive and shrill.
Regardless of who wins the election, they will be personally driven into the mud face first -and the Democrats are the best at that, they've had 8 very productive years at personal destruction.

Who said anything about still having a democratically controlled House and Senate come 2009? They're done.
Sky: They have the power to override a veto. Question you might want to ask is why haven't they?
