tell me what you think. Should our republic be restored and will you vote for him

I'm keeping an eye on the Gingrich campaign and I think he can appeal to the conservatives that look at the front runners and want something else. His "Green Conservatism" has a chance of appealing to moderates concerned about the environment as well. All Newt needs is the money. Do you agree or do you think he doesn't have a chance in Iowa of becoming the Republican nominee?

Lets remember that Al Qaeda in Iraq is there and functioning. They may not have gone there if we didn't invade, but that doesn't mean they aren't there now. If Barack Obama was smart, he would push for a redefinition of the Iraq war to only fight terrorism, period. Leave the political reconciliation up to the Iraqis instead of us shoving an unrealistic policy down their throat. If they blow it all, we can sit back and blame them and Iran. Let the military do what they do best, kill and capture.

Watch this video and still tell me that you hear him *wanting* to go to Pakistan.

I hear him saying that it was the biggest mistake in a generation for the Bush administration to let Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda slip away while they rushed to invade Iraq, a country that had nothing to do with 9/11.

The thought of a woman president is unsettling, the thought of Hilary in office sounds about as pleasant as smallpox.

Please tell why you think this is a good combo, if you do. If not please please pick who you think would be a good running mate with Hillary and why. Serious answers only please.

If you do not support Hillary or would not possibly support her, please do not answer. I am only soliciting responses for a possible ticket with Hillary at the top, for the moment, not trying to rile anyone.

I'm sorry, but I really feel that voting is a civic duty much like jury duty, and we cannot say no to jury duty. So should voting. There are too many voices out there that feel intimidated to vote and feel as if it wont matter, when it does. The Right Wing religious Republicans only stand to benefit if we all don't vote because the truth of the matter is, most people are more liberal than conservative, and that should be reflected in our government. This good Ole boy horse crap has got to end.
gone are the days where EVERYONE can go out into the free market and survive. With rising healthcare costs poverty, and poor education, there are people who fall thru the cracks and we being the richest nation on earth should have social standards so that EVERYONE does not have to live in poverty while others burn money in their fireplaces.
"Corporate Fathers Blame Welfare Mothers"

what do you all think?
please be intelligent when responding thankyou

For example, doesn't it feel like Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Rudy Gulliani, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson are all nominated already? You know what I mean? I don't recall choosing these people. They seem to be already chosen for me thanks to the media's obession and constant hype. And all of them have pretty lousy track records and lack luster resume's. I don't know about anybody else, but, I feel totally jipped out this time around and that it doesn't matter who I vote for in the primary, because it's not going to matter - the choices are already made no matter who is the best for the position.

Does anybody else feel like me?

I am an ardent Ron Paul supporter who is not officially associated with his campaign. I'm passionate about his message that government ought to be limited to preserving the liberty of individuals. I believe that a Ron Paul presidency could make the world a better place for all except the current elite. For this reason, I am very vocal in advocating his candidacy.

The purpose of my question is two-fold:

1. I'm not just posting my opinions to satisfy my own ego. I want to change minds. If Ron Paul supporters are seeming as mere annoyances then we're clearly wasting our time. I would like recommendations on what you think are appropriate ways of communicating.

2. When Ron Paul supporters are being reasoned and informative (yes, there are obnoxious supporters), I want you to question whether you're rather more interested in voting for American Idol than for a presidential primary. (Over-simplification, I know.) I'm just asking people to give us a fair shake.

Thanks!

I happen to love politics and the system of democracy we have in place. I'm a GOP supporter a fiscal conservatice and a social moderate. I just happen to feel the officials we have in place now and for the future have completely lost touch with the moderates in this country. It's either one side or another no middle ground it seems. It just seems disheartening to have to pick a candidate in whom you don't even belive in.

She is not a progressive, she is a wealthy elite running on status and backed by corporate donors and sponsors. She will not change America, it will only be more of the same. She is not the candidate the Democrats should put forward.

No, I'm not a Republican, nor a conservative. I am fearful that she will take the nomination and ensure a Republican victory in '08. She, like Bush, is a divider, not a uniter.

Why not just run as an Independent spelling out what you truly are and stand for? Wouldn't you have a better chance that way because you know the Republicans are not going to nominate a Libertarian? So what's the point?

The media is so biased, all of them are pushing on their own agendas. Don't you think this is a flag for certain hidden interests? We should not go for anyone the media pushes!

I am a Republican, yet think it my duty to watch both parties debates and get to know the candidates on both sides. While I am going to vote Republican I would have to give Kucinich and Biden the win on this particular debate (with Richardson doing poorest).

What say you?

...just because she's a woman? Believe it or not, I was told by a female friend who knows nothing about politics, economics, or government that she would actually vote for Hillary "just because she's a woman" As unbelievable as it sounds, I wonder how common this type of thinking is in this country.

I have been a longtime Barack Obama supporter but recently have been leaning towards Ron Paul.

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.
