Find an individual candidate you can support.
Not all Republicans support Bush, and not all Republican candidates are carbon-copies of Bush.
If you want to go outside the party -- and you are a fiscal conservative -- look at the Libertarian party. They may be close enough to what you're looking for that you can find a candidate you can support.

If you are a true Republican and know the history of the Republican party, then there is only one candidate for you and that is Ron Paul.
Republicans used to be the anti war party. They were the party for states rights and small central government, among many things.
Ron Paul believes in an America that is a Republic where the rule of law prevails and not the rule of man.
-He does not vote for any legislation that is not authorized by the constitution.
-He tried to get congress to declare war on Iraq in an up and down vote, believing that if we declared war, then we would be fully comitted to winning rather than an undeclared war like Vietnam.
- He will abolish the personal income tax and the IRS and Dept. of Education and Homeland Security.
- He will repeal the Patriot act and did not vote to authorize it
- He will abolish the federal reserve and put us back on the gold standard, which is what the majority of the world uses
-He has written numerous books on economics and has won numerous awards
-He was one of only 3 people who voted against going into Iraq
-He believes that the reason Terrorist are in this country is because we are in their countries (and subsequently favors diplomacy vs. unilater decisions). Makes more sense than Bush's and Rudy's tired statement that they are here because they hate freedom.
- He has learned the lesson Reagan learned in Lebannon, which no other candidate Democrat or Republican has managed to address.

At least you have the good sense to be ashamed of what Bush has done...
George Bush IS NOT representative of the Republican party as a whole. Bush and his Neo-Cons hijacked the Republican Party for their own evil purposes. Bush is actually a Nazi. Just wait until Bush is out of office which, I know, cannot be soon enough. Maybe the next Republican candidate for the presidency will be somebody Republicans can be proud of again.
A Democrat

I can't say as I totally know how you feel. I did not vote for Bush in either election. I think the whole country feels betrayed right now. I think most Americans feel we are at a low point. It has been a rough 6 years, This country has been through tough times before and we can get past this. Elections are coming up and lets all pray for a leader that takes to heart the safety, freedom and welfare of this country.

I so know how you feel, Ive been a registered republican for 20 years and this administration has so disappointed me that I am considering changing party affiliation this upcoming election. I am trying to pick the best democratic candidate I can because I truly feel any other party choice would be a wasted vote. Everyone is so sick of Bush that I believe a democrat will win and I'm going to try to use my voting power to pick the best of that bunch.

If you believe in the Republican Party stay Republican. Don't let Bush change your beliefs. He is only one person without credibility. Look at all the political candidates and make your decision from there.

Lookup the Libertarians.
Most anti-Bush Republicans like them. Theyre truly conservative in politics and economics instead of being insanely liberal in those areas as the GOP is now.
All that Bush did was continue what Reagan did. Most GOP potential candidates want to be Reagan, so they wont be good choices either. Hint for how to find a good one: Look for anyone being ignored by Fox News. Theyre more likely to be different than Bush.
________
Rob, the GOP hasnt been for states rights in over 100 years. Lincoln effectively killed that and it has stayed dead. Are you wanting a return to pre-Lincoln GOP? If so Im with you...but good luck, as long as that tyrant is glorified by the party they will keep with the corruptions he thrust upon them.

Bush is neither a good president or the standard for Republicans. I wouldn't judge the whole party based upon one person. After all he will be gone in one year, there will be others to take the leadership for the party.
Personally, I think both parties are pretty disappointing. A pox on both their houses! I say be an independent and vote for the person with the highest standards.

don't take that political compass test. alot of the questions are loaded to favor leftist ideas.
It's a sad reflection on our society that something as basic as drinking water is now a bottled, branded consumer product.
so what? why does the government need to worry about this?
i wish i could answer that on like that.
The only social responsibility of a company should be to deliver a profit to its shareholders.
again same answer. if we see a problem with a company, don't buy their product. simple.
i don't feel like going through all this, but if you want a good test, take the worlds smallest political quiz.
