...Do you think republicans will find fault with anything and everything a democratic elected official does or says, no matter what, simply because s/he is a democrat?

My question is this:

Why did Sen. Allen's "Macaca" comment (widely perceived to be the reason for his loss) get such sweeping media attention, while the revelations regarding sex scenes involving pedophilia in a novel written by now-Senator Jim Webb received little to no coverage by the media? One would think the disturbing and perverse things Webb has written in his novels would garner some kind of notice from the media.

I am beginning to suspect that had he been a Republican candidate, his political career would be over.... but these disturbing things have been largely overlooked. Why?

I am happy that the Dems have taken over the house and senate, but what is their immediate solution to the war in Iraq? Do you think they will be able to force Pressident Bush to turn his policy around?

Results are in and the republicans took a big beating. The big question now is will the democrats use their two years to pick on Bush and posture for 2008 or actually get something done?? We can only hope they will not cut funding like happend in Nam. The men and women who have died there in Iraq deserve a positive ending to that mess.

It was announced earlier today that George Allen (R-VA) has conceded the race to Senator-elect Jim Webb. That was the last seat that was in the air. The Dems now have control of both chambers of Congress. Sorry Bushy Boy, but your Agena will no longer be carried out!!

Now, if we can vote a Dem President in 2008, that would the icing on the cake!
