Elections - November 2006

Instead of having Democrats and Republicans, what if there wasn't any political parties? Wouldn't it be better? I asked this question earlier but I guess I didn't explain enough or just some really dumb people answered LOL, some said like we need them to keep each other in check, but Why? I don't think so, Each person is different, if everyone votes just for who they think would be the best person in which ever position they're running for, instead of for what party they are, then wouldn't it be better??

They get to vote in both there country of living AND their country of origin....is that fair? Surely it should be one or the other!...Strangely even people born here appear to get this right....do you remember the people of Iraqi origin interviewed on the news on the day of the Iraqi elections? Some were born here and had never even been there, yet were allowed to vote as well as being given the right to vote in this country......Why?

This election was not won by anything the Demoncrats did right, in fact what could they have done with no plan at all.
No, it was lost because of what the GOP failed to do. This was a clear message to the GOP that they had better go through Puberty damn quick and get their balls back!
They have drifted from the foundation on which they stood. The foundation which Reagan established.
A foundation of Defense, Border Security, Family Values, Small Government, Strong Capitalism and a total disregard for Lobbyists and Special Interest.
Will they get the message?

What does it say about republicans when 45% of a certain Florida district still votes for Mark Foley? This is the man who resigned, effective immediately, because of his molestation (not proven "physical" yet, but certainly mentally and emotionally) of minors - boys, no less? How delusional are you that you feel you MUST vote your party even though that candidate is basically a sex-offender?

from The London Times:
"An initial look at the voting statistics indicates that participation was not the issue. It was the willingness of previously Republican voters to enter the polling station and back the Democratic challenger that proved crucial. Turncoats (from a Republican perspective), not turnout decided these congressional elections. "

and I heard that DeVos used $40 million of his own money to use for advertisment and such to run for governor. i don't know how much The governor used. Wouldn't it be nice if ANY politician made ONE commercial and said "I have this much money and i am going to give it to my state to create jobs, feed the poor, educate the uneducated......anything.....rather than use it for a campaign? I wonder if the press would give a person so much admirable attention that they would win the race. WHat do you think? What do you think could be done with the money used for campaigns? What would you do?
