Heck no...it was a landslide...but the Republican vote machines made it look neck in neck-- until the RepUGLYcans "graciously" backed out before a vote count was taken.. Whew!

Of course not, silly. A coup d'etat is performed by the military. This was an election. And BTW, the President is still Bush.

This is what a coup d'etat is
A coup d’État (pronounced /ku de'ta/), or simply coup, is the sudden overthrow of a government through unconstitutional means by a part of the state establishment.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coup_d'%C3%A9tat
and here is another definition of coup d'etat
coup d'é·tat (ku' da-tä')
n., pl. coups d'état (ku') or coup d'états (da-täz').
The sudden overthrow of a government by a usually small group of persons in or previously in positions of authority.

Granted....coup d'etat sounds more sophistimicated than election but they are not synonomous.
Tuesdays event was an election.

Not really but I'm sure things will not be the same as they were before. People let their voices heard and the results speak by themselves. There were a lot of issues at stake and there were a lot of voters who did not agree with how it is handled. Already changes are happening !

nothing has been overthrown there is so much lost and so m uch money spent.
and we are still killing our kids for oil.
when we get ethanol(soy and corn) and other workable solutions. we need to deal with homelessness and no affordable housing and hunger and loss of the middle classes.. infrastructure needs have all been cut.
things will stay bad till they learn the solutions. and stop worrying about gays in love, aliens and the far right religion of greed being brought to your home and school and bedroom.
just repeat..
you cant fund terrorism with soybeans.
and
it doesn't trickle down.
and
greed is not good ,greed is not god.
these are mine and you can spread them.

No, the corporatist Rpublicans still control legislature and have sworn to oppose all progress on anything. Apparently the Republicans would rather see their country fail than share it with the people who still live in it.

No, it's called checks and balances. When one party gets too big for its britches or too corrupt in this case, the other party wins. It happened in 1994; it happened yesterday; it will probably happen again. Get over it. That's the American system of government.

No, not even close, maybe it would be wise to look up the definition of something before you post a question about it.
