If the ads you saw are the only source of information you had on the candidates, I'm glad you didn't vote. Too many people vote for candidates for the wrong reason. "He has nice hair", "I like his name", "She's a black woman". They don't actually know where the candidates stand on the various issues.

Next election, take the time to research the candidates. There is a ton of information in the Internet. Read the newspapers. Watch the debates. Talk to the candidates.

Yeah, not voting solves nothing. Plus, I am not sure why people have accused democrats of having no real vision or offering a solution to problems. Changing the status quo--whatever the current administration is doing ineptly--IS offering a solution. Getting out of Iraq, fixing social security and health care issues, addressing immigration and border policies are all examples talked about by Democrat candidates constantly. What else is there to say?

You should vote it's very important. I agree with you on the whole trashing each other thing. But keep this in mind, you don't vote you have no right to complain about the things that you don't agree with.

No problem. If you don't vote, that's your right. But some of us see a clear difference between the parties. So we support our parties. It matters to those of us who care that there's a war in Iraq, abortion rights (or restrictions), environmental issues, taxes (you do pay taxes, don't you?), social security and a host of other issues that affect citizens every day. But again, no problem if you don't care.

How could I vote? Hmmm...well here is a question for you...how could you not vote? You have a right given to you by the freedom's this country was founded upon by our founding father's. And by not exercising those rights given to us through freedom, we easily give them up to those who would freely desire to take it away from us. My philosophy is this...if you do not exercise the gifts given to you...you will eventually lose them. Exercise what has been given to you freely to keep it not only in your life, but for the future generations who needs the same freedoms given to all of us today. Think not just of yourself...that is selfish. Think of others...that is selfless...and that is freedom.

not voting is not an option...find people that you would want to represent you and encourage them to run for office...or run for office yourself...not voting simply makes you irrevelavant
