Good question , I think a politician and an actor can switch jobs easily , most actors wanted to get involved in politics : to start with a politician is an actor : they both act , they hide easily their true identity and both can manipulate people , actors fit the job of a politician : Ronald Reagan and Arnold S. are good examples and Bush missed his job as an actor in Hollywood instead of the white house , he would have been an excellent comedian ready to make a joke at any minute and laugh..

Actors ARE in politics. Most politicians are actors and they share a similar script. "It's time for a change," and "I'll make a REAL difference in Washington", etc. Oddly, however, politicians who don't follow the same old formulas are rarely elected. Jesse Ventura was a refreshing change. But, once he became Governor, he didn't like it much and decided to get out of the plastic political scene.

Already we have great actors in all the countries who became the Presidents & National Leaders. eg., Ronald Regan elected twice, also in Philipines the elected President (who was a super hero) ended up in a prison! It is possible in Philipines and India due ignorance! But how come in US, these tenctacles extended long back?

Why not? They're citizens with political views and a desire to participate in the process.
On the other hand, I think Arnold is governor just because he's a movie star.

No. It would amke them less popular. Say an actor who was Republican went into politics. The Democrats that once liked him would hate him.

I think they are valuable in politics to the extent that they know how to convey energy, emotion, and excitement behind key ideas and selling political platforms. Sadly, it seems like that is so much of what politicians do now, instead of analyzing issues and hammering out compromises.

Actors, just like every other American, has every right to express their political views, and we have every right to accept or dismiss those views . . . or their candidacy.
