As a US citizen I see myself as a moderate who leans towards the conservative side. I personally hate bush I believe he has gotten this country in a bad state, everyday young men are dieing, and the economy is doing bad. I think a democrat needs to serve whether it be clinton or obama. Do you guys agree?

I think that abortion is wrong, but I feel bad for poor women who keep having lots of children just so they can get meager government benefits. What if we impose mandatory sterilization after 2 kids in the lower economic tiers. Hey, this could get rid of poverty too!

At 4th of July celebrations... how many people saw people there wearing flags or other paraphernelia from a different country? I saw many, many here in Virginia. I have to admit, it made me angry. The 4th of July is an American holiday! It's when we remember people who have died to keep this country free. It seems extremely inappropriate and disrespectful to me to wear a flag for another country. What does everyone else think?

Not when it kills civilians, obviously. But is using this against an opposing army against the "rules of war"? It seems to me that against a force with superior technology and weaponry, it's an understandable tactic.

Highlights on the New book by John Lott: Freedomnomics he points out flaws in previous ways of thinking:

Women shouldn't vote: "What changed ... that explains the growth of government? The answer is women's suffrage."

Fox News Channel isn't conservative: "Even employees of Fox News, which is widely regarded as a conservative channel, donate 81 percent of their contributions to Democrats."

Public schools are government re-education camps: "(P)ublic education was actually designed to spread government-approved values."

Nothing good has come from abortion: "(A)bortion, in fact, increases crime."

Felons vote Democrat: "Remarkably, it looks as if virtually all felons are Democrats."

Lott shows that there are pretty clear answers to what lowers the crime rate, what increases the crime rate and what doesn't have any effect at all. Despite their popularity as explanations for the remarkable drop in crime in the '90s, the aging of the population etc...

I am so tired of people saying that if you are against illegal immigration, you're a racist or a bigot. The last time I checked "American" was not a race. It isn't about people's color; if it was a bunch of Germans or a bunch of Africans that were coming here illegally in droves I'd feel the same way. I DO feel the same way. In this country we teach people that you get nothing if you don't earn it. We are against people who try to do that, such as living here without paying taxes, or using our resources when you aren't a citizen. They always say they do the jobs Americans don't want to do. I personally believe that it's because they will take pay for the job that Americans couldn't live on because we have to pay taxes. $7.00 an hour goes alot farther when there're no taxes taken out. It also goes alot farther when there are 12 people living in a 2 bedroom apartment and before anyone says that's a stereotype, let me just say that I see it every day in my apartment building. Anyone else?

Went to a co-workers house for a movie night. Their dog was playing, sitting on people's laps etc. At one point, dog came up and sat down in front of me. I leaned in and said softly "Oh, cutie what are you doing?" Dog freaked out, jumped up and bit my face, tearing my upper lip. The owners drove me to the hospital, and were obviously upset. They were concerned that the dog would be killed if I reported it to the police. I did not want the dog killed either, so when the ER staff called the police, I told the police I did not know who's dog it was. Of course, this meant that I had to keep going back for the rabies shots which the ER people said I could only get there. The owners offer to pay all medical bills, which was $1500 of ER visits. They have since paid me $300, but have not made any attempts to repay the rest. I have a large scar 4 mos. later. Just want ER bills paid, am not looking for damages. Should I take them to small claims? I did lie to the police. Will this hurt my case?

Or is ok since he's a liberal and not an open christian?
"Our values should express themselves not just through our churches or synagogues or mosques; they should express themselves through our government," he said. "Because whether it's poverty or racism, the uninsured or the unemployed, war or peace, the challenges we face today are not simply technical problems in search of a 10-point plan. They are moral problems rooted in both societal difference and individual callousness – in the imperfections of man."
geez imperfections of man...seems he's turning to a 'Higher power" to look for those answers.
liberal hypocrites and God haters? will you still vote for Obuma despite his lack of qualifications and now his religious extremism? Or it's only bad if a christian candidate with an R in front of their name says those things?

My mom had died , her branch and account was in California, I live in Idaho. Her bank said I need a court order to have them release a copy of her bank statement which I need to track down where she had her life insurance through. I am real low buck dude trying to do this on the cheap, by myself if possible. It seems too simple and quick to need to involve an attorney. One wanted $4000.00 to even consider the case!

Ok – I know this makes me a kook but here goes.

I believe there is a horrible group conspiring to plot the downfall of the values of freedom/liberty loving countries. Their conspiracy targets, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, families, heterosexual marriage, the value of having children, fidelity, a free and decent market, etc.

This group espouses free love, politically correct speech only, secular public speech only, family as burden, Marriage as relative in regard to sexual preference, Government control of finance/market/health/speech/etc., degradation of freedoms, oppression of religion, relative fidelity, sexual ambivalence, etc.

This group has existed for ages, surviving governmental changes, wars, etc. They are highly organized, studying human weakness (individually and as groups) and the best way to exploit weaknesses. Using advances in status, technology, etc. against the public good. They are cleaver, and patient allowing for changes to be slow to dull the public’s aversions to the change in values.

This group – Satan and his fallen angels. While Politians, media, religious leaders, and others are used by Satan as “useful idiots,” these corporeal groups do not conspire together. There is a conspiracy to devalue the human experience and it is neither Republicans nor Democrats, these, and the media, are some of the tools of Satan.

I am not surprised to see a calculated attack on values from republicans, democrats, and the media. Whereas these groups could not possibly coordinate a vast conspiracy, but Satan and his angels can.

I believe in God so I also believe in a coordinated effort for good, which is why we still have freedom loving countries!

Ok – that’s my theory – what do you think?

Lokie
