At 4th of July celebrations... how many people saw people there wearing flags or other paraphernelia from a different country? I saw many, many here in Virginia. I have to admit, it made me angry. The 4th of July is an American holiday! It's when we remember people who have died to keep this country free. It seems extremely inappropriate and disrespectful to me to wear a flag for another country. What does everyone else think?

Coza, you just don't get it. Free for AMERICANS. Freedom of expression for AMERICANS. Freedom of speech for AMERICANS. To wave another country's flag on our independence day is to slap this country in the face. You obviously have no concept of patriotism at all. But I bet you do; to YOUR home country. And that, dear Coza, is EXACTLY what I am talking about.

Isis, you are missing one glaring difference: the definition of the term "witch hunt" is that people are persecuted for doing nothing wrong. Illegal immigrants are doing wrong by definition. They are ILLEGAL.

is this country really free? all i see is a vale that looks like freedom, even our own constitution that was made to protect us is being warped and used against us, to harm us and put away all who "disrespect" the establishment
have you ever heard of any of the communist witch hunts?
well the same thing is happening again but to immigrants
this country was founded on immigrants both legal and illegal and even in the very beginning those who traversed here to escape the hard ships of their home lands showed pride in where they and their blood came from.
yes it is a day to show our support for our troops both living and fallen but it is not the only day, every day we should show our support not just days that have been preassigned by capitalists who dont care about patriotism just the money that they make off of the nations false patriotism. the sad thing is that no one really cares anymore about patriotism just "yay i can light fireworks today because it is the fourth of july"
it would be nice if every occupant of this country would put aside all their prejudices and get along without trying to leech every penny out of others in that name of a holiday.
i see you are proud to be an American and you support our troops and so do i
and my mom who was born here and my tias and tios who were born here as well as immigrated here with my abuelo and abuela who came here from mexico and earned their citizenship by taking a test that even i ,in my wildest dreams, could not pass.
continue to support our nations protectors and continue to proudly fly our nations colors but also thing of the forigners who are fighting and dying along side our troops wearing our colors to protect us

peace

You know what? Who gives a sh*t what the illegals do? They're practically invisible in the world, that's why they show off like they do, they need attention. Their own country threw them away like yesterday's newspaper and they're just looking for some recognition. You know like a spoiled child that will do anything for attention even if it is negative attention? If we look at it from that standpoint then it doesn't matter at all, does it? The sun will come up tomorrow and God is in Heaven and all is right with my world! God Bless America and Americans every one.

They should go home and wave their flag. That is just low, we should be allowed to celebrate OUR independence without this rudeness and lack of respect for our great day, the 4th.

Don't tell me they were displaying the Mexican flag? I think it is rude to fly the Mexican flag or any other flag in this country. If they love their country so much - why don't they just go back there?

It's a great thing that I didn't notice anyone else waving their foreign flag because I would have gone over there and choked them with it.

Thats just one of the perks of living in a "free" country. So I guess we'll just have to deal with it.

Why must you be so racist? This is a diverse copuntry, people have the freedom to celebrate on whatever day they choose. I love diversity and culture . It's people like you that can cause another Holocaust.
you should feel the most shame.
