Given the amount and various types of drugs little Al had in that Prius...he is more than the casual user...more like major dope dealer.

A liberal viewpoint:
1. If you're a liberal parent it's not his fault that his kid can't act like a decent citizen.
2. If you're a conservative parent you should have put a gun to his head long ago.

A conservative viewpoint:
1. It's the parents responsibility to raise their children properly. Being liberal or conservative makes no difference.

Given that he is 24 years old, he is responsible for himself. No matter what anyone thinks of Al Gore, his son is a fully grown adult, and it serves no purpose to try and make an illogical connection between the two.

I have a good friend with a son who is addicted to drugs. His father is a good man, raised him as best as any parent can, and still his son got involved. It's a real painful thing for this man, as he is a minister, and of course everyone thinks he should be above having a problem like this.

He loves his son, but he can't take responsibility for his actions, and he shouldn't. I think this is the personal responsibility thing that we hear being touted in certain circles. Apparently when it happens to people we don't like, it is convenient to retreat from the personal responsibility argument, and move towards ad hominem logic.

Okay, I know I've made a few cracks on this subject, but I want to be completely honest here.

I actually feel bad for the porr guy. I mean it's not like he's Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan who purposely put themselves in the public eye and deserve every sneering bit of tabloib BS they get. Just because his father is Al Gore (whom I despise) he's getting torn to shreds.

But, such is life I suppose.

It is totally irresponsible rabble rousing people like you who enjoy spinning stories and in fact lying.

I have just checked 7 media reports on Gore's arrest and all of them refer to the police having found " A SMALL AMOUNT OF MARIJUANA" and five PRESCRIPTION DRUGS including valium etc.

Hell, based upon the legal consumption rates of these legal prescription drugs I suggest many a US household's bathroom cabinet includes these very LEGAL drugs.

So much for your inference that the amount of drugs found was large. It wasn't.

Secondly they do not yet know if these LEGAL PRESCRIPTION DRUGS were aquired legally by Gore or were they illegally gotten.

Lastly Gore as a child was almost killed in an automobile accident and had to undergo extensive/lengthy surgical procedures and a long period of physical therapy.

The record shows that as a result of this experience Gore like many who suffer such traum a can become sadly addicted to drugs to ease the pain etc.

I certainly am not here as a Gore Apologists but I also have no respect for people who shoot their mouths off in a slandering manner as this poster has done with absolutely NO EVIDENCE for the crap he has just spewed .

It may very well be that Gore is even a drug dealer BUT AT THIS POINT no such evidence exists for such a claim .

You have to feel bad for presidential or children of those in higher office. The limelight is on them and like a celebrity they are prone to getting into a little trouble. I think it is a non issue. Especially if the children are grown and out of the house. They are their own individuals and anything they do shouldn't reflect on those who raised them. They can make their own decisions. By the way I think Chelsea Clinton is doing just fine!

Al Gore's son is an adult...he's not unlike a lot of young men in his age group...he screwed up...Not his dad. I guess this is some kind of hit piece against the former vice-president. A typical red herring argument. 'Because his son is in trouble, that means Al Gore Sr. must be discounted on 'global warming'.......wow...dumb and dumber....one thing has nothing to do with the other.

Oh how I can't wait till some of you have kids of your own,...... good parents don't always raise good kids....you can't blame the parents when an ADULT child of theirs does something wrong... I was under the impression that all the DRUGS little Al were caught with were all prescription drugs... sounds to me like he was going to one of those parties where the kids get all the household prescription drugs-and share them---my BIG question would be----TO WHOM WERE ALL THESE DRUGS PRESCRIBED?????? and HOW DID LITTLE AL GET THEM---and you can't always blame the PARENTS especially since this guy is an ADULT HIMSELF!!!!!! so lay off of BIG AL.... his kid made a BIG MISTAKE and it was HIS KIDS MISTAKE, not Al Gore Sr.'s mistake!!!! Janet Jackson rips her shirt to expose a nip at the superbowl.... was that her MOM's FAULT? HARDLY

Al Gore cares about NO ONE but himself. He has no time or inclination about caring for anyone but himself, including his children. He is trying to be a 24 year old himself and with his 'global warming' is one more desperate attempt to be recognized and respected - totally oblivious to what his priority should be.

I feel very badly for his children as something really stinks in that family but he, his son, should receive the same sentence as anyone else caught under the same circumstances. He needs help and his father, Al and mother need extensive counseling in the hope they can get their priorities straight.

When all is said and done Al will be a long forgotten memory and his family will be all he has.

I don't like or trust Al but I do hope he will wake up and realize the rest of us don't care about anything he is spewing forth. There may or may no be global warming but others can carry that banner. Al & his wife need to take stock of where their has gone and what they have really accomplised which is nothing. He has failed at it all!

Funny, I bet Al &Tipper would take credit and claim good parenting skills if he turned out to be some rocket scientist or brain surgeon, instead of expecting people to be understanding and not blame them.
Values and morals are instilled early in life, not after one becomes an adult, the Gores are responsible.
