I think that Tom Delay and Ted Haggard would be a great Republican ticket for 2008. Most of us Republicans are waiting for a golden boy to abolish abortion, ban gay marriage, ban female priesthood and return power back to Republicans and also try the Democrats for crimes against humanity.

Or is it really just about having the funds to campaign based on what you could make possible for your contributing companies, industries or lobyist. i.e. ... other filthy rich people?
I would love to see the country run by someone who genuinly cares about the average everyday people who work day after day to pay for this oversized money guzzling goverment of ours. I'm not just meaning someone who will have their "pr" people post some meaningless survey on a public forum like this one to portray as if they are getting in touch with the people. I mean someone that has actually started out working for a living supporting a family without a silver spoon or daddy's company to run. Someone that knows what it's like to have nothing and still keep going with just heart and integrity to show. Someone who will not view our countries bank acounts as free money to give away for political gains. Because they will know what was done by us to aquire those funds to keep OUR nation great!

"I'll commit troops only with an exit strategy," and later, that he'll be "very careful about using our troops as nation builders." From a debate between Bush and Al Gore, October 3, 2000.

Why did he lie?

Okay it's making the rounds ,again,It seems the right wing has their get Rosie O'Donnell claws out and so rather than offer the truth of what she said on her blog they lie out right and say she accuses the U.S. govt. of 9-11-01. WRONG!! I just read it and what she is discussing is WTC #7 a building not hit by the planes yet govt. claims it was collateral damage when in fact the NYC fire Dept. said it would have to "pulled". I find it interesting that rather than ask the hard questions of this Criminal adminastration you right wingers would rather attempt to smear those who do. Read the blog for yourself knowing WTC 7 is NOT the towers hit by the planes. www.rosie.com

Why is it OK to order subpeona on a political movement? Why easy because when you are lossing the polls about Iraq which we are now gaining control over ( when the press even mention it) and to what ever happened to having evidence and a crime to even indite anyone. Oh yes Democrats don't like to follow the laws of the people specialy when it hinders their objective.

This guy stays in the race even though the woman he loves and the mother of his children is dying? What kind of sick person would keep going in his longshot quest to ruin our country when he has enough money (stolen from our battered health care system) to spend every moment they have left together with her?

I guess the same kind of person who celebrates these three hypocritical notions:

1) Support of government interference in health care when his overblown lawsuits helped create the fiscal health care mess in the first place

2) Claims to be for the poor, but has a $6 million dollar gated home with an indoor movie theater (with exactly zero homeless people invited to stay there)

3) Claims to be an evangelical, but aligns himself with social liberal views (the latter being his only good point)

What do you think?

I'm affiliated with a small town police department and they are pretty lacking on some important things. I've thought of taking a grant writing class to see if I could help them out the only problem is the City Manager would reject anything because he doesn't like our police department. Is there any way i could avoid going through him to get grants for the pd?

I posted this before but I didn't get many answers (3 to be exact). I'm looking for an explination that is somewhat lengthy and can explain in whole, more of a textbook type answer, if possible, if not, any type of explination would work. LOL
I'm working on the subject of Police discretion in my Corrections in America class this week. The topic is Police discretion. There isn't much information in the text, so I was hoping to get a few answers from a few officers or other people in the CRJ field.

My main question is what exactly is meant by police discretion? (what does police discretion mean--I know what discretion means, but I am assuming actual "police" discretion is a bit different in its own--and what does police discretion involve?) How does the pratice of discretion by todays officers affect your department and the policing profession as a whole?

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.
