why is everyone afraid of china? sure they have a military buildup and a large economy, but consider:the united states budget in military spending is 14 times that of china. which means that, in loose terms, if they build 1 plane, we can easily make 14 to counter them. simple as that. their nuclear arsenal is not international, meaning they wont be able to send one our way. their economy is in danger of overheating. by the year 2040, scientists predict that 430million people in china will be over 60, severly damaging their economic output. by the year 2050, india (a US partner) will have more citizens and more global influence than china. so for everyone who has heard things about china's huge military buildup,it is still relatively small in the global scale. its like a race. the united states and the EU are a few laps ahead of them. while they are catching up, they can only push so hard for so long. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_as_an_emerging_superpower they have SERIOUS problems

My dad left my mom a few years ago for another woman. This woman is nothing but money hungry even though my dad does not see it. My dad has built an excellent business over the years from the ground up and is now very wealthy. I am worried that if he died tomorrow, that his wife would be entitled to everything. I know he has a will in place but how does it work? Wouldn't she still get everything since thats his wife? Ive already seen my mom get left with hardly anything from the divorce. Now Im worried that if he died, she and her kids would get everything that he worked his whole life for, and his real family would be screwed again. Also, Im 25 years old and out of the house as are my sisters. We work very hard just like he did and taught us. The wife and her 3 sons do nothing and are grown too. They live off of him.

I was wrongfully accused of having a relationship with another co-worker. After asking around, I found out who started these rumors. I was wondering if I can sue this person for false accusation? I honestly don't feel comfortable working there anymore.

Not a single defeat - Not a single battle lost - 58,000 men died - But the military lost not a single battle. What happend ? Our Government is what happend - Our Government wanted our men to hold the line - be policemen - Capture hearts and minds - The Mcnamara Line - The division between North ans South Vietnam. Had we been allowed to truly go to war and fight like warriors - Vietnam would have been a completely different story. Our Government lost the war , but one can never say A Vietnam Vet lost anything.

Particularly when it comes to health insurance. I always hear them complain about how much they hate taxes so that everyone can have access to health insurance. It just blows my mind because this seems like the least a civilized society should be able to offer. What is next? Should we abolish public fire departments and police departments next? What about public schools, libraries and museums? Would that make you guys happy also?

It's not as if they ever earn much compared to average salary, so why do they bother complaining?

And if you're willing to die, if you're truly THAT selfless, shouldn't that demeanour also be reflected in civilian life too, as proud ex-military?

Ok, I am to a point right now that I almost want to say fine let them do whatever they want, but answer me this question.

Since the government should not be involved in marriage issues, such as gay marriage and alot of supporters say the government has no say in who loves whom, can we also say then that the government has no place to implement benefits for marrieds as well? I think it would be hypocritical to say that the government should butt in in one aspect of marriage but not others.

Ok. So I don't understand.
a) he got acquitted from murder charges
b) he still lost a civil trial and got sentenced to millions in damages.

Since the second must base itself on the fact he is, somehow, responsible for the wrongful deaths and mùst indemnize the other party for their loss (whatever the exact nature of it, I could not get the exact terms and motives of the judgment), I can hardly reconcile it with the fact that the first trial cleared him of all charges, so I'd expect the double jeopardy clause to come in play... after all, a penal judgment, given its potential consequences ought not to be overturned by a civil jurisdiction right?

I can't make sense of it

I like to make up funny names for the people running for president it makes it easier to listen to two years of the drone. However, Hillary Clinton is already the funniest name I can think of.... Any suggestions? In fact I was already thinking of calling Obama "hillary clinton" for his funny name. I think I'll just call him Sadam (which is his real name).

I would like to know what is the most important thing to the average american. During the election season it seems the politicians and media tell the people what they want to hear and instead of listening to the people they feed the people on a variety of issues that never get addressed after election day.

war on terror?

-All US liberals live in the US
-They don't carry AK-47s or RPGs
-They don't follow a radical religion
-Bush knows exactly who they are & what they look like
-They're wimps
-And Bush controls the entire US military

It would be like shooting fish in a barrel.
