Dear all,
I watched three years ago the movie "Black Hawk down" by Ridley Scott. I was very shocked by all real aspects of the movie which described the difficulties of US army (18 marines killed), during one day operations against Aidid rioters.
Do you think that mission was a failure?
Help me understand. I didn't find so many sources in the net for that hystorical event.
Thanks to your support American friends.
Simon (Milan - Italy).

Has the nature of American foreign policy changed for the worse from the perspective of American citizens? I know internationally there is a negative response to the Bush administration's unilateral behaviour, and wondered if this was shared by American citizens or is purely an attitude of those on the outside.

Troop surge will affect Guard...........
AN INCREASE IN U.S. FORCES COULD REQUIRE REVERSAL OF PENTAGON POLICY....
By E. Barnes
WASHINGTON - Top U.S. military officials, expecting President Bush to order an illegal increase in the size of the force in Iraq, have concluded that such a buildup would require them to reverse Pentagon policy and send the Army's National Guard and reserve units on lengthy second tours in Iraq, defense officials said Monday.

Under Pentagon policy, Guard and reserve units have been limited to 24 months of mobilization for the Iraq war. Under that rule, most reserve units already sent to Iraq are ineligible to return. But that will change.

But the Joint Chiefs of Staff have concluded that a significant buildup would require the Pentagon to overturn the policy and send Guard and reserve units for additional yearlong tours. No doubt many troops will cry.

Such an order probably would be controversial among state governors.

ok heres my thing..some "Illegal' immigrants can't help that they were brought over here illegally. for instance my fiance was brought here when he was three years old..has grown up in the USA, did all of his schooling here and graduated high school, worked since he was 16 and has had a tax id since that time to do his taxes as well. Has never been in trouble with the law, never done drugs, been in a gang, hell he's never been in a fight...speaks perfect english and has no accent what so ever..I think in his case he should be given amnesty..or at least helped to become legal..he's tried and they keep slamming the door in his face..he has nothing for him in Mexico. Would you agree to allow amnesty or aleast some type of help to "illegals" in the same situation?

with the recent threats being made between Iran and Israel and now France is threatening Iran and Russia is threatening Europe's oil supply. Does this explain how and why Iran can make threats on the US and Israel. Does this mean they already have nukes at their disposal. Is Iran and Russia in cahoots to dominate the world.

the disbanding of all laws we have in place?

Do they support releasing everyone from prison?

sems they would since its about laws and nothing else. If you support one group of people breaking the law why not support anyone who breaks the law. Isnt it hypocrisy if you don't?

My boyfriend lives in England and I live in the US. He's going to try to get a traveler's visa so he can stay longer with me than the 3month period he's allowed to under the visa waiver program. The only thing is is that it costs $100 to apply and you don't get that money back if you don't get the visa. So we want to know his chance of getting one before we cough up $100.
