It is hotly debated here in the US. There are more who are displeased at the least in the current administrations policies. The Presidents approval rating for overall job performance hovers around 30% and his handling of the war at about 22%, so it is a large majority that disapprove.

First, I'd like to say that foreign policy means much more than the war in Iraq. The nature of and opinion about our foreign policy has decidedly changed for the worse. Much worse than anyone could have imagined. Even my staunch Republican friends have told me in private that they long for the days of Bill Clinton. Most Americans do feel that Bush has deeply harmed our image around the world with his foreign policies. Look at the polling data, rather than the fringe on this site. Since the focus of the US is almost exclusively focused on Bush's foreign policy and his domestic policies only benefit the ultra wealthy (upper 1%), his polling numbers profoundly low and have been for a long long time.
Did you see that George Bush was voted the greatest villain of 2006? He beat Satan and Saddam Hussein!
"Bush won the villain sweepstakes by a landslide, with one in four respondents putting him at the top of that bad-guy list. When people were asked to name the candidate for villain that first came to mind, Bush far outdistanced even Osama bin Laden, the terrorist leader in hiding; and former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein..."

I think we are the United States, however we share the world with many other people and we do need to get along. We and many other country's have the ability of killing almost every living thing on the planet and I wonder what people do not get about that. Our foreign policy has taken a dip with the run and shoot diplomacy of the Bush administration and I see no positive improvement until he and his administration is removed from office. Be it 08 or before, it is needed to try and build better relationships around the world.

We are badly divided on the issue of foreign policy as well as many issues. I personally think Bush foreign policy is not only lacking but abysmal. US unilateral behavior is not only ethically & morally wrong but ignorant and misinformed at the very least. At worst, it's dangerous.

It's clear that the majority of Americans do not approve of the war in Iraq. They have made that crystal clear, from everything from polls to the mid-term elections. Bush is losing support from his own voting base and the Republicans in both Houses. Anyone who denies this is breathing nothing but sand from the pit they've buried their head in.

You are asking too much asking them intelligent questions when they can just about string their names together.

Why do you liberals keep calling it unilateral--we have a lot of allies in the war on terror. The French and their ilk only object because they were stealing money in the oil for food scam.

No, it's changed for the better.
30 countries went to Iraq, after 17 UN resolutions - how is that unilateral?
Many people who say publicly they oppose us are secretly glad we're doing what we are.

Some people believe it's bad, but a lot believe it's good.
Our actions have proven, if nothing else, that the UN can't get it's own job done and we don't need them anymore.
