there was a school policy that says that if a student was failing, that they couldn't go to the library or anywhere b/c they were failing.i had a research paper to do for 1 of my classes,& i was on the failing students list, but the research paper was my final exam for 1 of the classes that i was failing.i was able to get into the library, only thanks to the principal.i told a teacher about that policy, that u couldn't go to the library if you were failing,& she said that i could sue.i'm not saying that i would, but anyway, the point is,that the teacher then went & asked somebody about it,& they said there was no such policy.the person she asked was an administrative person.now this "policy" isn't around anymore, but i swear to u it was.is it true, that i could sue b/c they wouldn't let me go to the library b/c i was on the failing students list,if i could prove it?there isn't any way that i could prove it,even if i wanted to sue,but i was just wondering.but yeah,is it true, that i could sue?

Under the Military Commissions Act of 2006, the president can name and identify any group he chooses as a "terrorist" group. The consequnces would be freezing thier funds and dismantling the group. Why doesn't Bush do the right thing and end this hateful group that advocates violence against others? Why are people with "White Power" logos allowed on Yahoo!? They are the real terrorists, not some guy who isn' even wanted by the FBI for 9/11.

i was just outside of my home with my girlfriend. my ex showed up out of nowhere and i recognized her as she was running towards us yelling and screaming"***&*#@". i decided to go inside with my girlfriend asap!!! in doing so my ex pulled up to the door and demanded that my girlfriend come out... that she was going to "cut her head off". i warned her to leave the property and she refused and was attempting to come in when i saw that my riffle was out in the living room where i had been showing it to a friend earlier that day. i waved it from inside my house to scare her away and it worked, appearently too well!!! i had called the police to come and help diffuse the situation but to my surprise as they arrived they intervied her and then me. in no time i suspected there was something wrong. She was laughing with the cop! the cop soon concluded that she felt threatend and that i be charged with "assault with a deadly weapon!" i was the one who called in the first place! advice???

Why are non-christians, non-jewish or agnostic so offended by the celebration of Christmas or Hannakuh? We don't force this on you. This has been a tradition of this country for a very long time. A tree with ornaments? Peacful symbols? Offensive? Please explain to me so I can tell my kids why celebrating my religion in my country is sooooooo bad!

I spent almost 2.5 hours on the phone trying to report illegal aliens but all I got was the runaround! Why are we wasting taxpayers money on this bunch of "do-nothings". I then called Senator Hutchinson's (TX-R) to try to get help...no luck there either! Is there no one being paid with OUR tax dollars that will do anything for us American taxpayers? I say ....LET THE WAR BEGIN! If no one will help Americans we must help ourselves! We won 2 world wars, we can win this one too - this is one job Americans will do!

I ask this question mostly to see if this is a national trend. I know for a fact that here in Texas conservative women are far more attractive than your average hippy (also appear to bathe more). However I haven't lived in any other state long enough to notice a trend either way elsewhere.

Perhaps in the states where there is an overwhelming democratic majority, the good looking people tend to be liberal. Could it be that attractive people tend to conform with the popular view of the area while unattractive people tend to rebel from the norm?

Please answer with your state of origin if you don't mind.

My mother was murdered 23 years ago this February. My parents were divorced and my dad was already remarried and living in another state. I was 4 at the time. The police know who murdered her cause he did it at her work with witnesses but he fled and they "never" found him. When she died I went to live with my dad and my 1/2 brother went to live with his.......our dads never kept us in contact and I never knew my brother or my mothers family until I got married and was old enough to find them myself, with no help of my dad or step-mom. Anyway, when I called the police station all they said was that they were not actively looking for him. Well I am 27 now and it has really impacted my ife and I need closure and I can't have it not knowing what happened to that man.......how can i go about getting the police to reopen her case and actively look for my mothers killer?

Surely some of you seen the video of police kicking a mental man while he was down, broke his ribs, punctured his lung, etc. The police always get away with it, even though it was on film.
I am a victim of police brutality, how can I possibly win if they get away with murder?
There is no "Innocent until proven guilty!" The police think they're the judge and jury. This is just wrong! Has anyone else here in the US been a victim of this crime too?

in my job I have access to customer information as in phone #, address, DOB, DL # etc. My friends are police and they will ask me for info to aid in catching these crooks. I dont get anything, not money or favors, just the satisfaction of knowing a dirtbag is off of the street. these are not common people these are murders, robbers, gang bangers, theives and other dirt bags...

what do you think of this? I could get fired for doing this, but I have a family and want to make the world( at least my town) a safer place. If I turn a blind Eye I or anyone could be the next victim.
The info I have supplied has been the break in some very major cases.

i posted this in the answers civic arena and most of the answers were negative. what do you think??
