My 17 year old neice got arrested at Marshall Field's for retail theft, but she never left the store, nor did she conceal anything. The cashier rang the item up and put it in the bag. I thought it was only retail theft when you actually left out the store. Am I wrong?

Shelf stable for soooo long? I'm talking about MRE's. I have about 20 cases in my Garage, and other than the mention of a "Sopacko packing company", there is not a mention of where they are processed or manufactured. Are they just vaccum sealed meals the government has purchased from various commercial distributors? Or, something more sinister?

Insurance money came in and my bro said there was only 5,000 and he said he used it for funeral expenses. He made a big mistake he left a pile of checks totalling 35,000.00 to pay for stuff for his own personal use and gave my brother 10,000.00. How can i find out how much really came in? He has everything, my moms, house, car, all the way down 2 the lawnmower. He is a greedy bastard and i know my mom wouldnt have wanted this.

I'd go to college on the GI bill after my enlistment, and as an officer I don't want to get people killed because of my incompetency. Also, I just can't bear it, I'm just BURNING to be a Marine, much moreso than college.

The writing is on the walls so to speak. This so called Iraq war with honor is going to go down in shame just like the Vietnam war. Get ready for homeless war crazy veterans to be begging for food and living under bridges in the towns of America.

Last year, over 43,000 people died in traffic related accidents.

I agree with you liberals, that you should cut and run from the California highways and move you and your $hIt to Venezuela, where you can live in the "freedom" provided by Hugo Chavez and his treaties with Iran and Syria.

So far this year, Democratic candidates have spent $23.4 million on television ads that criticize President Bush and link him to Republican office seekers, TNS Media Intelligence/CMAG Eye reports. That compares to about only $1.4 million that Republican candidates have spent on television ads!! whats your opinion??

Should the Senate and Congress be elected by PR with the President being the leader of the majority party or the main party in coaliton?
(following on from my question about 2 party system) Ive only read a bit about this but at first glance it would seem that this would allow:
1. a much wider spectrum of views to be represented
2. a more accurate representation of voters opinions(eg if 10% of voter vote for one party they will gain 10% of seats)
3. cause the parties to look at issues in every district and not just focus on swing states/districts (eg texas democrats get a voice)
4. for a more balanced government which actually acts on the opinions of the majority from a more central and inclusive viewpoint.

They said same-sex relationships wasn't enough. It had to be called "marriage", or else they would declare that gays had no rights at all.

They said not to worry - nobody was going to be forced to marry gays against their will - only those who wished to do it would do it.

They said that this was the last human rights issue to be resolved. We didn't have to worry about things like polygamy being legal.

Then, gay marriage became legal under the Liberal government, against the will of most Canadians.

Then, the Liberals paid for a study that recommended that polygamy be legalized.

Then, the Liberal courts said "swinger" clubs were legal.

Then, the Conservatives came to power and were warned not to mess with marriage, because "it is just fine the way it is", despite that same argument causing liberal heads to explode when gay marriage was not legal.

Now, there are rumblings from liberals that churches should be forced to marry gays, or else lose their charitable status.

Dear Senator Salazar,
As a native Coloradoan and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue
Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the
Immigration and Naturalization Service in an effort to determine the
process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.
My reasons for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal
alien stem from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for
which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as
an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, what I
need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three
of the last five years.

I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process
started before everyone figures it out. Simply put, those of us who have
been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I'm excited about

The prospect of avoiding two years of the last five years taxes in return for paying a
$2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively?

This would yield an excellent return for me and my family because we paid
heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005 and I estimated a gross savings
approximating $72,000. After the fine this would yield me a net savings of $70,000.
In addition, I would reap the other benefits of being an illegal alien
such as free healthcare, avoidance of paying Social Security taxes, buying
automobile insurance, serving on jury panels, etc.
If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal
retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be
most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

Your Loyal Constituent,

I hear it again and again in political debates, and just heard it in a debate between Paul Begala and Torie Clark, when the latter made such an accusation. What does it mean?

Can people gratuitously accuse others of being "intellectually dishonest" when they disagree with the other politically? Why is it that people can't simply say "I disagree with you" and why?

Who is the Silent Majority? Is it Nixon's idea that it is a conservative faction who blindly support America through any given war ("Sacrifice. Sacrifice. Sacrifice.")

Or is it people who don't vote because they think there is little the people can do to change their own government? or who think they should be allowed to smoke pot? or something else?

And why the heck don't they vote so we can figure it out!
