do know now!

The Royal Navy's Special Boat Service (SBS) is the lesser-known sister unit of the British Army's Special Air Service (SAS) regiment. Based in Poole, Dorset, the SBS is a special forces unit which specialises in special operations at sea, along coastlines and on river networks. The SBS also have a team on standby for maritime counter terrorism (MCT) operations. Whilst the unit specialises in water-borne activities, they are also highly skilled on dry land. Recent operations have taken place in the mountains of land-locked Afghanistan and deep in the deserts of Iraq. Previously known as the Special Boat Squadron and exclusively drawn from The Royal Marines, the SBS is now open to members of other regiments and services from throughout the UK military.

right here is what makes your question moot. the two the SAS and SBS are knowledgeable in each element of each others occupations. This because of the fact of this they're the two basic leap(para), HALO, try against diver, Boat training etc... The SBS is the British Royal Navys elite Commando unit (US military SEALs), mutually as the SAS is the British Armys elite Commano unit.(green Beret) they might not be in a joint operation because of the fact the two it would be an operation controlled by ability of the army(SBS), or it would be an operation controlled by ability of the army(SAS). in the event that they have been, perhaps, the two in touch in a paticular operation then they might the two be doing key projects for a straightforward objective and would not be section by ability of section yet extremely working of their very own communities on their very own goals.

Its deemed to be the equivalent of the US Navy Seals. Whereas its a highly disciplined unit under the banner of the UK's marine corps it lacks both the equipment and resources of the US Navy's Seals. It was initially formed in the early days of WW2 and its first significant raid was against enemy merchant shipping - with their gallant conduct and heroism brilliantly told/portrayed in the film Cockleshell Hero's. Of the entire paddle crews invested in the raid only 2 men managed to escape, the CO and a trooper, the remaining others all captured and subsequently executed by German firing squads following their capture. I'm given to understand that both survivors of the raid were subsequently decorated for their respective actions soon after making their successful return to base and that both suvivors subsequently survived the War intact!
