Iran should have a high priority toward maintaining peace and security amongst its neighbors and the rest of the world.

The matter of Iran needs to be addressed by the United Nations, with the full participation of all interested and effected parties within the Middle East.

The challenges within the Middle East. and Iran in particular, must be placed under a global microscope and examined carefully by the world community.

Fairly big country, dry, lots of oil and earthquakes. Like Iraq, it is not a superpower and has no capability of waging war on the U.S. although it might cause regional trouble at some point in time.
Perhaps if we did not go out of our way to be discourteous to their religious beliefs, we would not have them angry with us. What a novel idea--mind our own business!
All of the real estimates on their nuclear capability put it at least 5 years away, although we have some of the pro-israeli journalists in major news markets harping that they are about to nuke Israel and also attack us. Totally unfounded, but I think they hope we will attack that country unprovoked, like we did with Iraq.

If Israel really feels threatened, it needs to act, not the U.S. As you may recall, Israel did exactly that when Saddam had a nearly complete nuclear power plant, and abruptly blew it all to hell back in 1991. I'm sure they are quite capable of doing the same to Iran when the time comes, but of course it would be easier if we'd do their dirty work for them.

Why anyone thought Iraq was a serious threat to anyone is unfathomable. We and the british bombed Iraq continually in the no-fly zones, about 1/3 of the country, for almost ten years. We have spy satellites that can read car tags but we can't tell how big their military is? Yet I remember published letters to the editor from terrified people that Iraq was going to invade California! Sometimes it seems our government has one of the best propaganda machines ever contrived.

Boy thats a tough one. The vast majority of Iranians are lovely people, their peaceful persianshi'ites (not arabs, and of ayran ethnicity) who although are very conservative and traditional are against violence and adhere to what is actually a very logical religion when not taken out of context. The Quaran says that only Allah may take a life and most people abide strickly to this and have hatred towards those who do.
However they are ruled by bad people, Ahmadinejad is not the problem, he is merely the pr person, the face, the puppet, the real power lies with the supreme leader the Ayatollah and they can not be allowed to get nuclear weapons because quite frankly i like the west to have control of them, and if they have nukes either the west will lose a powerful bargaining chip and the balance of power or israel will be blown off the face of the earth along with the rest of us in a religious war never before seen in history.
Ideally an internal uprising would be nice but if theres no time, bomb the crap out of them before they have a chance to hit us.

They are acting like a spoiled child.

We are all citizens of the same earth. The United Nations was put into place to regulate and preserve the safety of the greater whole. Much like the parents in a family group. Any child (country) that goes against the family (earths citizens [UN]) deserves to be punished (sanctions). Continued disobedience should should result in the isolation of the child (timeout) and the removal of any objects of said disobedience(grounding[No TV]).

THE IAEA AND CIA HAVE BOTH REPORTED OVER AND OVER AND OVER THAT IRAN IS ONLY SEEKING "FUEL" GRADE URANIUM ENRICHMENT FOR THEIR NEW POWER PLANTS AND COULDN'T POSSIBLY DEVELOP A WEAPON WITHIN 10 YEARS EVEN IF THEY WANTED TO.

http://www.eyeontheun.org/assets/attachments/documents/IAEA_report_on_Iran_4-28-06.pdf
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/01/AR2005080101453_pf.html

ONLY BUSH PROPAGANDA BELIEVERS BUY INTO THE UNSUBSTANTIATED CLAIMS OF IRAN PERSUING "WEAPONS" GRADE ENRICHMENT.

BUSHCO IS COUNTING ON YOU NOT KNOWING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "FUEL" AND "WEAPONS" GRADE URANIUM ENRICHMENT (TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT THINGS- http://www.nrc.gov/materials/fuel-cycle-fac/ur-enrichment.html ) BECAUSE IT MAKES IT EASIER FOR THEM TO SELL YOU ANOTHER WAR OF CONQUEST TO STEAL MORE OIL, SHUT IT OFF AND CREATE ARTIFICIAL SCARCITY.

PS. IRAN IS ENTITLED TO NUCLEAR POWER AS A SIGNER TO THE NON-PROLIFERATION TREATY. ISRAEL IS NOT EVEN A SIGNER YET HAS A MASSIVE AMMOUNT OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS. THIS IS FACT.

They honestly scare the crap outta me. Have you ever watched Glenn Beck on CNN Headline News? I think he does an awesome job of explaining the details.

I really think the Iranian government is building nukes and plans to wipe us infidels off the planet. What I don't think is that they are going to get away with it.

"Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don't worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it." -- Ariel Sharon to Shimon Peres, October 3rd, 2001, as reported on Kol Yisrael
