I understand that the grieving family of a murder victim might have some reservations about seeing the killer of their loved one being released; but that's something the grieving family has to work out in their heart. But if the criminal has done his time than he/she should be let back out into society.Calling prisons/jail/maximum security, correctional facilities i think misses its purpose if you lock someone up for life or some rediculaous amount of time like 150 yrs that pretty much gaurantees the criminal wont be coming out.True or false?the idea of a "correctional facility" is to try and fix or remedy the behavior that got the inmate put in their in the first place so that when their relesed their practically different people in terms of their attitude?Sure whatever the person did was very haneous, but for us to be any kind of society that will forgive and forget(not literally forget, but move on and start new)something needs to be done about the ridiculous sentences handed out:-)

I am looking for a pro bono law student or attorney to help us. We truly do not have a lot of money to pay for an attorney and this situation is quite important.

Seems like some people support wars, while others say peace is always the way to go. Given recent wars in our time, and wars in the past, do you think that a war could ever be justifiable?

I have read many questions and answers on the Yahoo forum about freedom. I notice a lot of people , think freedom is , free things! Dont have to pay dollars $$$$$.
They tell everyone they can about the high gas prices, taxes and they complain and complain. The U.S. , is not free.
I think they are confused on what freedom actually is! We have the freedom to get an education, many people in other countries are not allowed that privilege.
We can buy a house or a car etc. There are no house's in some countries to buy, If you could afford one! There are lists in some country's to buy anything, including food! Can you choose your profession or are you told what you will be and what you will do for your livlihood. Can you own a business? Can you leave the country , if you want too. ?
We can complain about the government all we want. Do we risk being put in jail! For an opinion! Please tell me, What is feedom to you?
Can you vote? Why do so many Americans not Vote! then complain?

Why do we let people that just want to kill us over in this country. {Iraqi's,Palestinians, etc.}The are mean hateful people that are obviously not bright. They think killing themselves earns them some virgins...How insane! Why don't we just say,you know, blow yourselves up,we take your oil,and screw you all!

Does your government seem to represent the will of the people in your country and does your nation seem to be following the right course? We tend to be very ego-centric in the U.S. and fail to pay attention to what others may be doing right. I think we need some new perspectives but wonder if the whole world really is in chaos, as it seems.

Son was informed in order to play baseball he would have to cut his hair, I say BS! Girls play sports and aren't forced to either quit or get their haircut. No one I talked to today will give me one good reason as to why he would have to cut his hair. I smell discrimination! HELP!

Terrorism was used to by the zionists to achieve Israel, but it did not lead to lasting success, because to this day the descendants of the victims of zionist terrorism are resisting occupation of their lands, but they are failing due to use of terrorism (killing of innocent civilians) rather than full-scale war or forgiveness/assimilation.

Terrorism was used by Islamic militants to bring about an Islamic government in Egypt by killing Anwar Sadat, but it brought to power an even more secular and anti-Islamic militant ruler.

Terrorism has been used by Pakistan-supported Kashmiris to gain independence from India for many years, and now they are realizing that the only solution is a peaceful one.

Terrorism has been used for more than 40 years by Marxist terrorists in Colombia, they have not gained any sympathy among the frightened hard-working masses, and they have made staunch enemies among the relatives of victims.

Or are most of them just egos with a badge. I am aware that there are some great many caring officers around who work hard at their career but for example here in Calgary Alberta the norm seems to be the opposite. I have lived in most cities throughout Canada and have noticed that here in Calgary the local police force is completely lacking a sense of community. It seems for them it's the "us vs them" mentality.
