I am looking for a pro bono law student or attorney to help us. We truly do not have a lot of money to pay for an attorney and this situation is quite important.

Wow, do I hear you about not having money for an attorney! I live in Utah and the average price around here is $200/hr.

My suggestion would be to get a Pre Paid Legal plan. Can you afford $26 a month? That would give you access to call a firm in your area and speak to an attorney any time you want to get answers to your questions. You can have them view contracts and documents, and they'll send letters or make phone calls on your behalf. You and your husband can get your wills done, be represented if audited, have assistance keeping points off your record if you get a ticket (or a teenage driver if you have one!!), and you will be represented with hours of attorney time paid for, by your membership fee, if you are sued.

Does that sound affordable and valuable to you? Most people pay more than that for their cable TV. You have health insurance, car insurance and maybe even life insurance...doesn't legal insurance make sense?

If you're interested you can check out my blog which is the second link below and you can view the other website. Please let me know if you have questions about this...I have the plan and have used it several times and LOVE IT!!

IF you say Bay area, I would guess California, California does allow law students to do some legal work, even in court, while under the direct supervision of an attorney. But they can not do any work for your without that attorneys permission.
since he is liable for thier actions. ( and he will want to normally get paid for thier work)

Next if this is IMPORTANT, than you need to hire a real attorney,

You can check out legal aids in your state.

If you are not an attorney yourself, than a law student offers you legal advice can get disbarred for unauthorized practice of law.

For the sake of anyone who responds to you, make sure they are licensed before you accept their help.

Um...only an attorney can provide legal services. Otherwise, it is practicing without a license. Try calling legal aid.
