As long as our elected "leaders" keep shirking their responsibility, it's up to the people to get something done ... so, whether we're tired of it or not, the issue won't go away ....

No.
I read the article. It is mostly accurate. And we are not satisfied yet. This needs to be kept in the forefront until addressed.

It's not immigration or the immigrants, regardless of their ancestry. It's EVERYONE'S sickening attitude toward one another and our demand to live without a basic set of rules and structure that would work for everyone. Those being God's moral decisions and principles.
Whether you believe in God or not, if people would only pay attention to the laws and commandments of the Bible, then everybody would have respect and decency toward everybody.
This is what Jesus said at John 15:12-14;12 This is my commandment, that YOU love one another just as I have loved YOU. 13 No one has love greater than this, that someone should surrender his soul in behalf of his friends. 14 YOU are my friends if YOU do what I am commanding YOU.
Makes sense doesn't it? And he never said this to just the Hispanics or just the Americans, he meant it for everybody.
God Bless and thanks for reading.
