Andrea Yates was found not guilty for killing her 5 children... I feel that she should pay for her crime.. She killed each one ... one by one... waited for her husband to leave when she committed the murders, and told a psychologist that she felt she was such a terrible mother and killed her kids so they would go to heaven... Me personally I feel she is quilty... How many people are given the death sentence for killing spouses, and kids, but aren't diagnosed as "insane" ?? I really want to know how people feel about this issue...

My son is sitting in jail and he is only 17. He has always been a very good kid. Now he is facing 5 yrs in prison for an offense he didn't commit (I know cuz he was with other family members at the time). I wont say what the crime was, but he is still in jail and I have no $ for bail or for lawyer. Legal aid won't help him either.
His public defender is ok but not the greatest (i.e.: falls asleep in court). They won't grant my son a change of venue (live in very small town), and won't grant him a new public defender.
Any advise?

The United States is usually a polarizing place - people love it or hate it. Some say the US is a bully, others see it as the police force in the world.

What role should the US play in the international arena? How can the US improve how it interacts with other countries? What rights does the US have regarding what goes on in other areas of the world (i.e. Israel and Lebanon, Darfur, North Korea)? What can the United States do to make the world a better place without stepping over the sovereignty of other nations?

So, I wake up this morning and go to the bathroom. What do you think I found? I found a bunch of chihauhuas splashing in my tub and getting water on my floor. In the kitchen was one cooking breakfast and yelling "yo quiero Toco Bell". Another one was on my couch smoking dope and another reading pornography. I turned around and saw one holding a knife and growling at me while another was kicked back drinking beer. Another was humping my chair.

This really freightened me. So, I ran out and started the lawn mower. Suddenly, they all raised their heads to full attention and listened intently. All of them ran out towards the lawn mower wagging their tails while I dashed for the door. I shut the doors and locked them all out.

Wasn't this a close call?

Who's tired of the one sided reports of networks such as FOX, CNN, MSNBC and the right wing shows of O'reily and such? Honestly, if you want me to decide on an issue, give me both sides of the coin accurately and correctly. Don't propagate the side you agree with and half a-ss the other side. That's why i don't make decisions based on what they report, i do my own research.

have evangelical ministers like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson distorted the views of most good and honest people in the USA, that don't want the wars of religion?

U.S. could face a showdown with al-Sadr By ROBERT REID, Associated Press.

BAGHDAD, Putting more U.S. soldiers in the streets of Baghdad risks a major butt beating by the radical anti-American cleric who has modeled his movement after Lebanon's Hezbollah guerrillas.

Muqtada al-Sadr's Mahdi Army has re-emerged as a key force in the majority Shiite community after suffering substantial losses during two uprisings against the U.S. military in 2004. Sunni Arabs believe the militia is responsible for kidnapping and killing thousands of Sunnis since the Feb. 22 bombing of a Shiite shrine.

Al-Sadr's black-clad followers insist they simply protect Shiite communities that have suffered horrific losses at the hands of Sunni insurgents and religious extremists in Iraq since the collapse of Saddam Hussein's government. Whatever the truth, there is no way to restore order in Baghdad without dealing with this Iraq leader. The Marines crap when they see black clad followers.

Why is it that it is OK to bash Bush but not bash Al Gore? I do not see the reasoning behind the Democrats or Republican thinking. I am not taking a side but seriously. Why is it ok to hate the "president" but when Al Gore is talked about fists fly and "YOUR REPORTED"? I thought this was the land of the free? Not land of hypocracy! "Don't make fun of Gore" Why not I ask? You make fun of Bush! Is this "fair"? Yet you cry "politically correct"! Why don't you look at yourself before you sing the blues!

Feel free to complain I look forward to you insults.

I live in San Francisco, california and at my local store i see hundreds of people using their food stamp cards to buy beer, cigarettes, liquor, and sometimes food. But when they drive away it usually in a new late model car sittin on "dubs" with a stereo system that could double as an Air Raid siren for most big citites. Im college educated professional and it blows my mind how this happens.

I'm from Britain and several months ago we were 'informed' that President Bush had stated that God had spoken to him and told him to invade Iraq. Do American's believe this to be true and to all non christians do you find it offensive that he has taken the country to war in the name of something you do not believe in?

The electorial college was justified when communities were isolated by distance and the inability to communicate quickly, but we now have instantaneous information and communications.

I personally do not need someone to "speak" on my behalf in regards to how I voted.

I say "Let the votes speak for themselves"
