First off let me say i was charged with distribution of cocaine and pot so i do know a little about the justice system, His penality may vary depending on how much he was busted with, was this his first offence what state , there are a numerous things that may affect the judges ruling just depending on where u are located. For meth.I believe the minimum is 8-16 years but he will not serve that. He may end up serving 2 years if any time.
I payed $3000 for my lawyer. He got the judge to put me in rehab (outpatient) rather then serve any time. Plus he was some how able to get all the charges expunged off my record. So I have no felony convivtions. See if there are any programs like that available where u are. These kinda things happen so hopefully he learned from it, good luck with everything

THIS is a very serious thing. More serious that crack cocaine. Simply because there is such a problem with it in the US and the govt. it doing its best to make an example out of all concerned. Expect some vigorous prosecution! How much for a good lawyer???? I had no idea there were any. I have had lots of dealings with them and I have never ever found one, no matter how much money I gave them. And I gave them A LOT! You may as well throw a dart at the phone book and call the one it lands on.IF it is his first time, he may get off lucky by promising to go to a drug camp or rehab. Maybe you can talk to the DA. All I can say is God be with you.

If he is using there is no real help for him unless he has hit absolute rock bottom & WANTS help. No matter how much time he serves he will still have a problem when he gets out & will return to the drug life. Him being busted may be the best thing for him. Getting him a "good drug lawyer" is only enabling him but that is hard for most people to accept. Best thing his family can do for him is throw up their hands & back off. If he is 22 years old & doing this stuff he must accept some responsibility. I hope he can get some help & soon.......... for his & his family's sake.

The lawyer could cast between $1500-3500. If he was within 500 feet of school, daycare etc. any establishment that has children then he could face as much as life. Anywhere else probably 5-20 this is just a general idea. His best bet is to get into rehab as soon as possible. This is a growing problem in the US and law enforcement is taking it very seriously as they should. If he had sold it to one of your children your option would be different. I understand people make mistakes but he wasn't just using it he was selling it. Jail is were he belongs along with rehab. Maybe he will come out of this a more educated and productive citizen.

It depends on his record.
You should of tried getting him sober before he commit the crime.
Meth is a serious drug, he needs to take resonsibilty for what he has done.
Its time you start being a parent and teach him responsibilty not how he can get out of commiting crimes.
My parents always told me growing up, If you ever get arrested you are on your own, and will pay the price.
That kept me out of trouble.

about $3000 considering its a felony I'm afraid, my mum works for a defense attorney and unfortunately i went through the same trouble a long time ago, I'm better now, haven't touched it in years but thats about the going rate!! good luck to him and i hope he can find a person like i did that gets through to him and he understands that he is ruining his life! get in touch with me if you want more info ok?
ok so they said i had intent to distribute and i was out in 18 hours!! did they set a bond hearing? and it wasn't intent AT ALL, it was just a little bit but they like to stretch the truth!

He got hit with intent. Not distribution. Maybe with a good lawyer he could get off since they didn't catch him selling.

he will visit penal complex if convicted, that a lot is for confident. i'm no longer an expert interior the regulation, yet i'd desire that he receives a minimum of 10 years in penal complex for the drug legal, hopefully a minimum of yet another ten in penal complex for the gun fee. positioned up launch parole must be waived, in want of deporting him decrease back to Canada. If the regulation is ideal, which will be everlasting ... he ought to under no circumstances qualify for the privilege to go back to the country. Get him the right criminal professional ... pay sufficient funds and he might want to be decrease back out "on his sales route" with yet another stolen gun in 3 years.
