Its not a question of what we are doing in Iraq that gives you your Freedoms. Its the willingness of men and women to put their lives on hold and put themselves in harms way that keeps those freedoms (Even the ones that allow you to Bi**H about the military on this forum.) With out those military personnel and their willingness to do whatever it takes and what the US Government asks of them, You would be speaking another language besides English in the continental USA and you would not be able to gripe about anything "your" government tells you for fear of going to jail. Don't knock what you have... It is you that is the fool if you think people around the world give a crap about you and your opinion, EXCEPT! the people of the USA that you are so loudly (and foolishly) putting down because you have a burr in your tail and no one who will listen to your stupid crap in person... If you don't like the government or the military You have a choose. You can change the system through the political process or you can leave the country and find your own place to go that is Perfect for you (Preferably off planet, because there are no perfect Utopian places here on earth yet...)

I hate this war, but if you hat eit without understanding it, that is just ingorant. Al queada is everywhere. Knocking out the regimes of the middle east ensures that they cannot get WMD's or commit another 9/11. Granted, it didnt really work, and Iran is no bolder, so basically the plan back fired.
There is only one thing I hate more than the US being in Iraq. That is the lack of appreciation that many puds like you have for what they tried and are trying to do there.

You do have freedom because we are in Iraq.....
Iraq did not commit the crimes on 9/11 and that is why we are not at war against Iraq.....The terrorist that Iraq is harboring is who we are at war against. I guess you never heard the news when the have said millions of times that this is a war against terrorism.
If it wasnt for the fact of us being over there who knows how many more attacks we would be having. Which to me would be an effect of your freedom being disturbed. We are fighting the terrorism that is being harbored in Iraq and setting the example for any other terrorist cell showing them what happens when you F%$k with America.....

This will be hard to understand for simpletons. Our troops have helped ensure that freedom and democracy are being planted in Iraq and Afghanistan. The more democratic govt's established will allow capitalism to grow - there by enhancing the lives of normal middle easterners. They will have to become more tolerant of others and realize that terrorism & violence are not always the means to get what you want. So inconclusion, more free Arabs = more free societies = less militant muslims = a safer world & America for you & I. Get it?

If WMDs are "lies" - then just what killed tens of thousands of Kurds? Their imaginations? Why did we fight Hitler? He never attacked the US. You are safer because Saddam Hussein is no longer in power and can no longer give aid to terrorists - like the $10,000 cash bonus he paid to suicide bombers.
We have found enough WMDs in Iraq to kill millions. Just because the Lame Stream Media doesn't trumpet the news - doesn't make it untrue.
Iraq WAS a threat to the US - there are tapes of Saddam threatening the US.
Even Hillary Clinton said that Saddam was "aiding and abetting" al-Qaeda. She made that statement in 2003. Check it our for yourself.

Cowards are always the first to question the military. No one said Iraq had anything to do with 9-11and WMD, were found and Saddam did use them against his people .Seems like you are one of those "fools".

I know you can't be a first-grader because you do use some complete sentences, but your complete ignorance on subjects of freedom in the global sphere and military preservation of national freedom is so undeveloped (aka: immature) as to make it impossible to cover in the scope of Yahoo Answers, so my recommendation to you is, go to school. Get an education! Grow up! Then come back and we can talk without my having to spell it out for you in such detail. God Bless you.

You have your freedom not just from "our" troops being in Iraq, but if you study basic history you can plainly see how we obtained our freedom. Why don't you try to live in another society where you aren't allowed to even view sites like this. Give up your citizenship and try to make it in another country and see how fast you value this precious gift people are dying everyday to get.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
John Stuart Mill (1806 - 1873)
