There have been a variety of said petitions though most have
gone no-where because this isn't something where a petition
counts.

Impeachment proceedings are brought about by the federal
House of Representatives and they do not seem inclined to do
so.

I recommend writing to your congressional representatives
to describe your opinions. They are read - though not
necessarily by the representatives themselves. That
information is generally conveyed to the representative
at some level, even if its a comment from an aid saying
"Uh ... we got another wacko for impeachment..."

To the degree that your rep listens to polls and the opinion of their constituants, your voice will be heard.

NOTE: Even if they all agreed with you, the US Constitution
has no "vote of no confidence" concept for removing elected
officials. They need to be guilty of "High crimes and
misdemeanors".

I believe that Bush qualifies because he said, in a
Constitutionally mandated speech to Congress, that he
KNEW that the Iraqis had weapons of mass destruction.
Clearly he knew no such thing, which means that he lied
to congress - at the very least, that is purjury (since this
is a required address, not just casual speech).

To date, however, no Representative has used that argument
on the floor of the house.

The best way of dealing with him is to make sure he
is powerless - make sure his suporters do not get elected
again this year. If he has a hostile House of Representatives,
he loses his budget (the House determines the budget).

If the Congress wanted Americans to withdraw from Iraq,
for instance, they need merely cut the budget. Our armed
forces would be out of there in less than a month.

I'm not saying that that is a good thing (I think a hasty
withdrawl would be bad), but it illustrates the point that
the power of the purse-string is pretty potent.

Attempting to stuff the President of the United States into fruit of any kind will grant you the immediate attention of the Secret Service. Perhaps you would be better served writing you your state senator and demanding in very clear terms that impeachment hearings begin, citing specific violations and offering up any proof you have. Sending a copy to the justice department will help get the investigation rolling, although you should be careful because they report directly to the President.

The websight is www.impeachbush.org. Perhaps seeing all the signatures there will light a fire under Congress' rear (only when the democrats win back the House) and there'll be articles of impeachment in store for that crook Bush!

its impeach not inpeach, and there is no such thing. congress will not have any impeach process cause there is no grounds for it.

If you oppose the war, then if they didn't impeach Lyndon Johnson for the Vietnam War, then George Bush is pretty safe for a long long time.

*sigh*.
Grow the f*** up.
You sound like all the idiots who wanted Clinton's
impeachment and Bush before him and Reagan before
him and Carter before him. Unless your really young,
can you possibly think of something more unoriginal?

Congress impeaches, not the electorate.

How can you sign it, if you can't even spell it correctly?
