According to an article I read in the local newspapers, this often happens at the time of boarding, and in some cases, a person will be flying round trip, and have no problems on the first flight, but then be required to pay for a second seat in order to return home. The reason given was that other passengers are uncomfortable sitting beside a large person. However, I think if big people should have to buy a seat for other passenger's comfort, so should other people you don't want to sit beside(young children, smelly people, annoying people who won't stop talking, snorers, etc), and only requiring it of big people is discriminatory. Opinions?
