This is what the white house is conducting against our own people, ignoring the constitution and creating more and more means of sying on us and curtailing our freedom. They call it the war on terrorism.
Remember when jerry Brown ran for president, he warned us of this

I would love to answer this but myself I`m just as confused as you because I have been hearing about the war to protect our freedom seems like eternity and I know it can`t be Communism again I think that wore out with the excuse for the Vietnam War,Terrorism is fashionable but after Iraq and the Middle East conflict in general it will be interesting to finally maybe get to the bottom of the answer to you pertinent question.

Bush challenges hundreds of laws
President cites powers of his office
By Charlie Savage, Globe Staff | April 30, 2006
WASHINGTON -- President Bush has quietly claimed the authority to disobey more than 750 laws enacted since he took office, asserting that he has the power to set aside any statute passed by Congress when it conflicts with his interpretation of the Constitution.
Among the laws Bush said he can ignore are military rules and regulations, affirmative-action provisions, requirements that Congress be told about immigration services problems, ''whistle-blower" protections for nuclear regulatory officials, and safeguards against political interference in federally funded research.
Legal scholars say the scope and aggression of Bush's assertions that he can bypass laws represent a concerted effort to expand his power at the expense of Congress, upsetting the balance between the branches of government. The Constitution is clear in assigning to Congress the power to write the laws and to the president a duty ''to take care that the laws be faithfully executed." Bush, however, has repeatedly declared that he does not need to ''execute" a law he believes is unconstitutional.
Former administration officials contend that just because Bush reserves the right to disobey a law does not mean he is not enforcing it: In many cases, he is simply asserting his belief that a certain requirement encroaches on presidential power.
But with the disclosure of Bush's domestic spying program, in which he ignored a law requiring warrants to tap the phones of Americans, many legal specialists say Bush is hardly reluctant to bypass laws he believes he has the constitutional authority to override.

The liberal agenda.
•attack American traditions, specifically Christian traditions and the traditional American family
•engage in "get-even" policies that support discrimination when it benefits historically disadvantaged groups
•punish and/or discourage achievement through taxation and fiscal policies
•use the rulings of the Judicial branch of the government as de facto law, irrevocable by anything short of Constitutional amendment or a future court ruling, thus bypassing the legislative process. Roe V. Wade is the most frequently cited example of "judicial activism".
•weaken the military strength and morale of the country by vilifying the practice of armed combat and hesitating to use force when it appears necessary
•use regulatory bodies over private enterprise to accomplish social goals and restrict competition (government, education, labor)
•establish secular and progressive social policy, including support for gay marriage, abortion, liberal drug policy, euthanasia and prostitution legalization.
•implement a foreign policy supporting the protection of human rights and multiculturalism through activism and social intervention.

Normally you would think this was Liberal hyperbole...but it spews from the mouths of conservatives. Today's conservatives sound more Liberal than Liberals with all their spreading freedom baloney.
What's the world coming to when conservatives can't be trusted to be conservative? I mean where does conservative end and liberal begin...oh that's right ...at the desire to use common sense. Now I remember.
