I have a stray sick racoon that's been coming out only at 11-12AM. It also has a baby that wanders around my Front yard which we suspect is also sick. It comes all the way up to my portch and then goes around the back of my house until the next day. I suspect it's sick because it's coughing & hacking and limps on 1 legs. The baby however seems normal...I don't believe in shooting, so inhumane answers will not be acknowledged.

My indoor cats have not so much as maimed any of them after many interactions. What could possibly make a better toy than a living organism that the cat can't kill?

OK, here are my questions:

1. I'm really into sugar glider toys n' stuff but of course they're illegal in PA. I thought I could put all of my energy into Teddi (my chinese dwarf hamster) instead of sugar gliders. But I did happend to see something about them... A "bonding pouch" made out of fleece. Would this work for my Teddi boy?

2. my friend wants to make a no-sow mesh wire fleece net. It's basicly, fleece around the edge and fabricated netting. You just weave them together and the hamster should be able to hop right up and longe around. But is that safe?

3. Overall, is fleece safe for hamsters?

4. Besides running wheels and running balls, what are good toys for hamsters?

5. I bought Teddi knowing everything about hamsters but still not following the rules :( A harsh bite from him made me realize how horrible of an owner I've been and I'm deciding to start our realationshop anew. I need tips for this idea.

I like dogs and cats but since I live in an apartment a cat is my only option. When I buy a house I plan on getting a dog because I will have a back yard. Besides, I think that Dogs are way too needy. What do you think?

Update on my kitten, Heidi 8 months. She doesn't like human hands to be close to her, but will play with my other kitten and us only if we have a cat toy in our hands.

Got her from a shelter age 6 mo. before she was in another shelter. They were to put her to sleep, but a volunteer said, NO! and took her to another shelter that doesn't kill cats. She is the most beautiful Calico.

All you suggestions we have tried, fuzzy gloves, treats, favorite wet food on spoon, pretending to read or crumble something while on floor ignoring her, talking to her, letting her see how secure the other kitten is, etc. She seems to know we're trying to coax her and nothing is working.

I have put in an order for a holistic remedy, Spirit of Flower Essence, that I will try.

Question: I'm thinking about just chucking it all except for talking to her for the time being, what do you think?
