I know there's no oil over there, but if Americans are as serious about spreading freedom, democracy, and human rights around the world as they claim to be, surely the Burmese people need our help as much or more than the Iraqis? How about if we pull our troops from Iraq and send them to fight for a TRULY noble and legitimate cause in Myanmar? And unlike the Iraqis, the Burmese (and the world) will welcome American troops with open arms and regard them as liberators, not occupiers. Sanctions like those Bush has proposed simply won't be enough. The only way is the military way. The only question is, do Americans have the will to liberate these long suffering people? Or is America's devotion to democracy and human rights just hollow lip service and restricted only to countries with vast oil reserves?

PS: If Bush decides to send troops into Myanmar, I pledge to immediately enlist in the military.

PPS: Long live Aung San Suu Kyi.

Innocent monks that would never walk on grass to avoid stepping on ants, are getting killed by the military. Here's our dilemma: Should we go in to stop this and be castigated again for invading other countries or should we let the U.N. handle this? (Oh boy, the Monks are really screwed with the latter). And before anyone starts with the obvious response, Burma DOES have oil.

Please don't watch this if you are an animal lover. Basically, a guy goes out to his dogs pen in the morning with his video camera?! and finds a skunk in with the dog.
The dog is trying to get away from the skunk and instead of picking his dog up and taking it inside, he lets the dog and skunk out of the kennel and then starts kicking the skunk as hard as he can. Some people are really sick. It makes me so mad!
What do you think?

Do you think they would hire any of our fellow contributors?

According to McFraudster spokesperson, Kate McFraudster knew instinctivly that her daughter was stolen to order and taken to North Africa. So she apparently has knowledge of how child kidnap gangs work and the routes they use etc. Is this the same Kate McFraudster who said they were only guilty of being naive when Madeleine first went missing as they had no idea that this sort of thing went on. They just can't keep up with their lies and deceit. By the way all your insults etc are water off a duck's back to me. Have a nice day all.

How would you feel if someone took a photo of you and decided that your child was indeed Madeleine McCann, went to the papers, your picture was then plastered all over the news shows and papers forcing you to come forward and prove your child isn't Madeleine.

Or if someone came up to you and 'just grabbed her' in the beleif she was the missing girl? This is what many people suggest we should do if we suspect we see Madeleine.

Imagine being on holiday and eating dinner (as a family, there's a novelty) and people start whispereing and taking pictures on their mobile phone all becuase your child bears a passing resemblence to Madeleine.

It appears that the payment of 'living expenses' due to a suspect in a childs disappearance being off work caused a lot of arguments yesterday mainly because a link was provided by a certain person. The link is above, it is not conjecture, it is a comment straight from the mouth of one of the fund managers. Hopefully the discussion on whether this is morally right or not, given the current position of the parents, can continue rather than mud slinging at other members of YA

She was tracked down by journalists to a remote village in north Morocco and was found to be a young five year old called Bushra Binhisa, the daughter of an olive farmer.
But even THEY has heard of Maddie.

How many more of these sightings are we to see, and when is this whole sorry saga going to come to an end. It seems the only time anyone looks for Maddie is when she is "sighted"
I myself would have been off to Morocco in a flash if I thought it was my daughter, no matter how slim the chances were.

how so called Antis can put forward media specualtion yet try to fob it of as a fact (ie the McCanns spent the Maddy fund on paying their mortgage)???????

Yet if someone who appears to be a supporter of the McCanns posts a question related to a report in the media, they are abused with the usual ''do you believe everything in the papers..........etc etc ) by most of the people that answer the question
Oh and by the way before anyone starts, when i say McCann supporter I DO NOT mean supporter of child abuse!!!
so you can tick that off your insult list!

All im saying is its one rule for one group of people and another rule for the other group!!

After all, he has publicly supported 2 people who are the main suspects in the disappearance and possible murder of their daughter. Two people who have ripped off thousands of people cleverly asking for money to look for their daughter, then making sure with their clever lawyers that they can spend the money on themselves. Two people who are growing more and more unpopular by the hour due to their moneygrabbing and evasive behaviour. People suspect that the McCanns are going to evade charges, even with all the evidence accumulating against them because they have friends in high places and the average Joe public doesn't like it. Well that is my opinion what do you think. Please don't start with the insults, just give me your opinion. There is room on here for everyone.

Would so many decent, caring people have donated if they had known that the money was going to be used to pay the McCanns mortgage and living expenses. According to Clarence M. 300,000pounds has already been spent, VERY little of it on actually looking for Madeleine. All they have done is market gimmicks which will make them more money, ie the wristbands, t.shirts and now the online shop selling Madeleine memorabilia. They haven't looked for Madeleine at all. The rest of the money is being spent on the mortgage for their 600,000 house and their living expenses. Will this go on indefinately. I don't think people donated the money to pay their living expenses, after all they left their children alone in the first place. Why should anyone pay for their negligence. The fund should be used to FIND Madeleine. Not to bankroll the 2 people suspected of her murder.

Seems on the news that Asda are trailling a scheme where they will charge people using these (and disabled) spaces when they have no need.

Now, I see an easy solution. As a parent of a small child I really appreciate getting a wide space which makes it a lot easier to get my son in and out of the car. I don't, however, see the need for them to be right next to the shop door. If they were further back then surely no one would use them when they didn't have to?

I feel the issue is the extra space as you need to open a door wide to load and unload a child. It is also better having space for the trolly/buggy up the side of the car rather than leaving them on the road whilst you juggle with the shopping and a small child! There isn't really a need to have them right at the front door. If there were shopping trollies available near these spcaes then there wouldn't be a problem.

I have listened to the whole thing that Bill Oreilly said about the black community and I did not like how he was portrayed. I hardly ever agree with Bill but this time I did not see him being a racist person. I think that he deserves an apology. What do you think about what was said.

The law on "have-a-go heroes" is to be urgently reviewed to give honest members of the public more confidence to step in, Justice Secretary Jack Straw will announce today.

He will tell the Labour Party conference that the current law is not working as well as it should. Officials will be challenged to devise ways of reassuring people who are victims of crime or who witnessed an offence that they can use reasonable force to stop and detain criminals. http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-1285946,00.html.

Why doesn't Israel simply leave the West Bank (all of it), Gaza Strip, Arab East Jerusalem, Syria's Golan Heights and the Lebanese occupied lands (Shebaa Farms), so Peace can finally be achieved???? Why is that so hard to do???

Its clear that this what will make peace but instead, Israeli settlers are busy expanding their settlements in the Golan, West Bank, etc and the US Government is busy blindly supporting the Israeli side.

Israel says they want peace but want to keep the occupied lands. The Arabs say they want peace but want their lands back.

Arabs may be in violation of several UN Resolutions but Israel is in violation of over 70!

Thanks for your answers! :)
