If you are talking about Guantanomo being dodgy, then fair enough. But if you are arguing that the actions of a couple of out of control police officers constitute a nation wide culture of torture... well you're just getting carried away, aren't you ?

Calm down.

The US govt. has done this for decades! The idea is that we are the Good Guys so we can do it, but if the other guys do it, then it's bad. All through the Cold War we did terrible stuff. We were told 'Well, we have to do it because -they- do it.' Years later we would find -they- NEVER did it.

Also, notice that the news media had a feeding frenzy about a guy who was tasered at a speech by John Kerry. Unless you read the stories carefully you'd think it was Kerry himself who ordered the guy to be tasered. But if this guy had been tasered at a Bush photo-op, you would never have heard about it.

Tazers are not torture. If the person had co-operated with authorities, nothing would have happened to her. People do not disappear here when they are arrested. They see a judge and get bail. Gitmo prisoners have more benefits like medical, dental, special diet, reading materials, and legal aid. The Red Cross is always there and have reported NO unfair or inhumane treatment of prisoners.

They American authorities are inherently violent. They do this to their people for voicing their opinions, look how they treat other countries, running in starting wars left right and centre, just check out their bloody history. What hope do they have with a leader who literally cannot string a sentence together - I can't believe they voted him in ......... twice.

True. You can't criticise others when you're doing it yourself. Not sure Bush would understand this, tho'. He just thinks America are the cowboys and everyone else is the injuns.
