She was tracked down by journalists to a remote village in north Morocco and was found to be a young five year old called Bushra Binhisa, the daughter of an olive farmer.
But even THEY has heard of Maddie.
How many more of these sightings are we to see, and when is this whole sorry saga going to come to an end. It seems the only time anyone looks for Maddie is when she is "sighted"
I myself would have been off to Morocco in a flash if I thought it was my daughter, no matter how slim the chances were.

if you would try to understand what i wrote....what i was saying is that no one is looking for maddie at all are they. All this money and have the mccanns ever actually gone out there and looked for her.....all they have done is raise money they havent put to any good use except travel, balloons etc, they should have hired a private investigater right away and travelled to look for her themselves!
too many lies too many changes of stories.

You and me both, but the McFraudsters know that Madeleine is not in Morrocco that's why they didn't go.

You're right to think you would've gone off to Morocco but think of the parents or the investigators receiving many such sightings a day. To even start following up each 'link' is a hard and meticulous task. Just because this story has come into the news just now after an 'empty time' doesn't mean the police and others are not working in the background, and working hard! One news chases another but in reality the police following up on a trail is not a news, if and when results are obtained then this is news.

Given the amount of little girls with blond hair in the world I think that there will be a lot more sightings of people who look like Madeleine before the saga is over. We may all look a little different but there are thousands of people who look similar to each other.

Have you just arrived to Planet Earth?
That picture have weeks (fact), how do you know that the Interpol have not been checking that since then?
How do you know there wasn't an official person from Interpol in Morocco?
Do you work for the Interpol?
...don't think so!

I think as long as people are still looking for her is the main thing. Even if this means there will be false sightings, at least she is still in peoples thoughts.
I don't think it's realistic to go to wherever people think they see her. Would you know where to begin? The police have ways of tracing people so why not let them go, and if things look hopeful follow them over.

But it's not you, is it? And you have no idea how anyone would behave in the same situation, especially when perhaps they are receiving contrary advice.
I like to dwell on the words of the farmer who wished that Madeleine would soon be found.

It is very strange that the mccans didn't seem to be involved in identifying that photo. I would have known if that was my child or not, you just know as a parent. If I had the slightest incling that it was her I would be there myself.
They seem to be taking a bit of a back seat now, do they know something we don't know?

It is disappointing.
“How many more of these sightings are we to see” – as many as it takes until she is found.
“I myself would have been off to Morocco in a flash”- The police assess the credibility of sightings first. You really don’t want to go through a rollercoaster of hope and despair.

The fact that there have been sightings means people are looking.

What ridiculous thing to say!!!
''the only time anyone looks is when she is sighted''
That's absurd
I imagine the media only report when there has been a reported sighting rather than constantly reporting who's looking and where they are looking
